New York August Liquidation continued at the opening but was met by orders from abroad and a demand at further declines which stemmed the lower tendency. The selling apparently ran Its course early in the day, and on the lack of pressure the market became and continued steady. The decline la simply the result of this extensive sell ing by recent bullholders and advo cates, and if complete leaves the mar ket in a much more healthy position.
