The Daughters of the Confederacy
In general convention assembled, at
Little flock, refused to endorse the
monument design selected by the vet
erans to be erected at the capllnl of
each southern state, to the women of
the Confederacy. They claimed the de
sign was not worthy the women of
those times, our mothers and grand
mothers. A New Orleans woman led
the movement.
