Trinity scored first In fourth on Bundy's walk; Cooper hit to third and on, his error both were safe. Thompson sacrificed, advancing both a base. West singled and Bundy scored. Henderson scored Cooper via squeeze route. Anderson flew out, re tiring side. Trinity scored again in sixth, Gantt" doubled and counted on Foushee's hot single after he had been advansed to third on error. The Techs scored twice In ninth on two singles, one which should have been handled, and double to center by Holland. Gantt pitched well fanning twelve men. Cniptal City High School Team to Be gin Series Today. (Special to The Times.) Durham, N. C, April. 22 The first of the championship series games be tween Raleigh Highs and Durham will take place this afternoon at East Durham park. These games have especial interest I to Raleigh, Greensboro and Durham. iinese tnree towns are about matcnea upon ball material. The Durham boys are strong in the battery with Roberts and White. Roberts is a hard hitter and last year did good work with the Durham Hosiery Mill team which ran off with the city championship with such ease. The game this afternoon will have an admission of 2;i cents and t . .... . . - J there will be several hundred young . girls yelling for Durham. CAROLINA WINS. Virginia Unable to Hit Lee, Tar Heel Twirler, and Was Shut Out, 1 to O. (Special to The Times.) Charlottesville, Va April : 21 With seven hundred students rooting des perately and the band playing Dixie to warm the blood .of the Old Dominion team at all stages of today's game, the University of North Carolina shut out University of Virginia 1 to 0 in the nearest a repetition of the second game ever recalled here. Lee, for Carolina, '.pitched a most remarkable game, one entirely differ ent from his Charlotte performance. In that notable game he fanned twelve. Today he struck out none. Rixey duplicated his performance with one more strike out and yielding two more hlts, Carolina making rive while Vir ginia landed safely but three. By winning this game, which is the objective contest of the two teams in every season, Carolina establishes the supremacy again after several years. No two teams were ever more evenly matched, each fielding with great skill. Virginia has had unquestionably the stronger batting team but against Lee has been .strongly Impotent. The re-entry of Honaker today gave con fidence to the team, but like his mates, he-could not hit. Neither pitcher gave a base on balls. "I Suffered Intense Pains in My Left Side." Do you realize it is better to be safe than lorry, that it it the best policy to lock the stable door before the horse is stolen? . Dr. Miles' Heart ifomedy cured Mrs. C. C. Takes Cluster Springs Into Camp by Score of to 1 Trying to Arrange Third Gamp. (Special to The Times.) Durham, April 22 Enthusiasts of both teams are trying to arrange a third game between Trin ity 'Park High School and Cluster Springs, of Virginia, two of the best high schools ever seen In this section, Though Trinity Park has beaten them twice, each time It was by such a score as to show the evenly matched nines in such a way as to leave in doubt their strength. Trinity won the Cluster Springs game by 1 to 0 and Thursday defeated on the home grounds the team that has such a great pitcher. The score was 2 to 1, but one feels that luck was with Trin ity. The visitors had a score of two against them, first and second oc cupied and none out. The batter bunt ed. Fitzgerald made a fine one-hand stab, threw to second catching the runner and the runner at first was caught. This triple iplay undoubtedly saved one run, if not two or more. Meadows and Fitzgerald pitched about evenly, with the odds a trifle In Fltz's favor. One is tempted to say that he hasn't seen a better pair face each other on the big diamond. The locals want to play In Cluster Springs again. . 7 Jersey Four Hopeful. (By Leased Wire to The Times.) Jersey City, N. J., ' April 22 Ad mitting that the champion Rochester team had the goods on the Skeeters in their opening battle, the Jersey City fans nevertheless hoped for better things today.
