Sec'y- WEEKLY WEATHER CROP BULLETIN. or the Week Ending Monday, June 13th, 1892. Central Office, Raleigh, N. C. The reports of correspondents of the Weekly Weather Crop Bulletin issued by the North Carolina Experiment Station and State Weather Service for the week ending Monday, June 13th, 1S92, show that, although the weather has been too wet nearly everywhere, no great damage to crops has resulted, other than interrupting farm work and giving grass some headway. Ex cessive rains have injured crops and washed land badly in a few places; over most of the State the rain fall has been well distributed and beneficial. The normal rain fall for this week of June is 1.09 inches. The temperature has been about normal, sunshine defi cient. Harvesting wheat and oats has commenced and will be pushed vigor ously this week. Wheat is reported nearly everywhere to be fine. The weather the coming week i3 likely to be generally dry and very warm, with abundant sunshine. Eastern District. Generally good growing weather, but the rain-fall was badly distributed. Heavy rains oc curred in some places, washing land and retarding work, while in others there was hardlv enough rain. Light hail slightly injured tjbacco and corn in Rocky Mount section on the 10th. All crops are in good condition in most localities. Cotton chopping is going on. Corn doing well. Irish potatoes are being marketed. Sweet potatoes about all planted. Following rains are reported: Wilmington, 0.G7 inch", Weldon, 0 S3 ; Harrellsville, 0.25 ; South port, 0 IS; Lewiston, 1.3G; New Berne, 1.52; Lumberton, 1 35; Goldsboro, 0.15. Central District. Rains have been frequent, generally light, but in some places too much has fallen and work has been retarded. Harvesting wheat has begun ; the crop is very good. Cot ton is only fair; corn doing very well. Tobacco and sweet potatoes all set out and growing nicely. Rainfalls re ported: Oak Ridge, 1.65 inches; Saxon, 1.30 ; Greensboro, 2.25 ; Lexington, 2 8G ; Smithfield, 0 35; Raleigh, 0.21. Western District. Farm work i3 much behind on account of wet weather, but a few fair days will en able farmers to clean crops. The rain fall has been above the average, and has injured crops in some places and washed land badly, besides causing rust to appear on the blades of wheat. The wheat- harvest has commenced and will be pushed rapidly this coming week, with every prospect for a splen did crop, as it is maturing rapidly and rust will not h we time to attach the grain. In general, crops are doing re markably well. Rains reported : Char lotte, 0 32 inch; Hickory, 2 00; Car riers Soring, 181; Statesville, 108; Dallas, 4 00; Salisbury, 1.17; Mt. Pleas ant, 1 03; Edneyville, 2.20. PEOPLE'S PARTY IN THE 6TH DISTRICT. Rockingham, N. C, . June 16, 1892. The convention of the 6th district was called to order at 12 o'clock by Y. C Morton.
