The Count^^ Convention meets in Oxford Saturday, May 29th, 1876. A full attendance is desired. The Press generally seems to be falling in line in favor of I'ilden for President. l.ost sweetness. Two thousand tons of raw sugar were burned last -Monday at Greenock, Scotland. The old Midlothian mines at liichmond, Va., exploded Monday killing eight men. They were 700 feet under ground. It hails from New Jersey this time. IMorristown was recently visited by a hail storm that killed chickens and bii'ds on the wing ll'.o X. Y. Tiibune says that a movement is to start in Washing ton to press Gen. Hancock to the front with renewed vi>'or, Marriage of Miss Jeannie Patterson. Misis Jeannie Patterson a young lady well known in St. Louis fashionable circles, and universally esteeemed, was marrieil last j evening at the churoli of the Holly Ccni- j nuinion, J.efringwell avenue, to I)r. Ralph Walsh of Washington, D. C., Miss Patter- I son liad recently returned from an extended tourto the South and Southwest giving in each city a selection of her poj^ular readings in which she attained a success of no ordi- ' nary degree.
