Dinner Enjoyed By Teen-Agers Sixteen Oxford sub-debs enter tained Wednesday evening with a formal progressive dinner party at ! the homes of Mr. and Mrs. A. 1. Park. Dr and Mrs. W L. Tayior and Mr. and Mrs. Joe P. Cutts. The hostesses were Misses Jan Park. Heien Watkins. Nancy Cutts. : Martha McFarland, Mary Ann Poweii. Betsy Bullock. Candace Tatsey. Roberta Rucker. Helen Ad cock. Mary Ann Dean. Janet Dick erson. Judy Watkins. Bettie Sue Knott. Julia Baker. Nancy O'Brian and Annette Hart. Dates attending the dinner were Sam Royster. Charies Noblin. Buddy Norwood and Philip Huges. A massive arrangement of fruA centered the dining room table at the Park home in Overhiils where the 32 young people were served cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. The Taylor home was decorated with Christmas berries and greens and the table was centered with a sil ver candelabra holding tall burn ing tapers. A turkey dinner was served. Woitz. senior president of the organization, assisted. Mrs. N. W. Weidon and Mrs. R. L. Hamilton poured punch at a beautifully appointed tabie. They were assisted by Mrs.'Henry Jen nings. Jr., in serving assorted sand wiches and dainty cookies. The members and their guests, around 35. enjoyed a delightful evening. Richard Breediove Host For Dance Richard Breediove. assisted by his parents. Mr. and Mrs. J. R Breediove. entertained young teens with a dance at the Woman's Ciub Monday evening from 8 to H o' clock. The club house was attractively adorned with holly. Christmas bells and mistletoe, with streamers sus pended from the chandelier. The dining room table was spread with a white cloth and centered with an epergne holding burning red candles and red berries. Red punch was served from one end of the table and assorted fancy sand wiches. cheese straws, nuts, mints and cookies from the other. About 60 pre-teens enjoyed ball room and square dancing during ' tile evening. Assisting in enter taining were Mr. and Mrs. T. K. Huss. Mrs. K. L. Howard. Mrs. W. G. Woltz and Mrs Tom Johnson. Rotand Matteson Host For Dance Roland Matteson entertained on Wednesday evening with a format dance at Oxford Woman s Club from 8:30 until 12 midnight.* His guests were teen-agers from Oxford. Durham. Raleigh and Hen derson. The club house was decorated with Christmas colors of red and green and softly lighted for dan cing to the tunes of famous bands. Jr., took piace on Dec. 18 in Halifax. Va. The marriage was announced yesterday by Mrs. Mangum's mo ther. Mrs. Charlie Currin of Ox ford. The Methodjst minister in Hali fax heard the wedding vows pledg ed at 7:30 p. m. The bride wore a woolen suit of charcoal with matching accessories! and a corsage of roses at her shoul der. A graduate of Berea High School Mrs. Mangum is a sophomore at Woman's College of the University of North Carolina. Greensboro where she plans to resume her edu cation after the holidays. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Dorsey Mangum of Berea, is a graduate of Berea High School. He is employed in this city by Granville Furniture Company. Nancy Lee Currin Dinner Hostess Miss Nancy Lee Currin enter tained with a Christmas Eve eve dinner and dance Thursday night at the home of her parents, Mr. arid Mrs. R. M. Currin, Jr., on Sun set Avenue. The iiving room of the home was bright with an attractive Christmas tree and the dining room tabie was centered with a crystal punch bowi with irghted tapers in tali holders on opposite ends of the tabie. Sailie Ervin Webb. Kellie Hoimes Baliou. Martha Tayior. Martha Parham. Jane Hedrick and Meriwether Waiker. Escorts partici pating were Roland Matteson, Dick H*yiet. Hoke HUss. Tommy Evins. Shrimp cocktail and accompani ments were served at the Tayior home, which was attractive with Christmas iights, bails and hoiiy. Centering the dining room table was a miniature tree. A turkey dinner was served at the Webb home where the tabie was centered with a miniature l:ghted Christmas tree and the home, cn suite, was bright with Christmas greens and red berries.
