She was en route to her home in Charlotte after a vacation in Canada. Mrs. Wallace White" is visit ing her son, Warren White, and family in Richmond, Va. Mr. H. D. Terrell of Stam ford, Conn., visited the S. N. Hawks and Alton Paschall families last week. Mrs. E. M. Robinson under went major surgery in Warren General Hospital last week. Mr. and Mrs. R. H Clarke have returned home after spending a week in Norfolk with their daughter, Mrs. Ken neth Davis. Mrs. Hal Paschall attended home-coming at the Oxford Orphanage last week. Mrs. J. P. Williams. Mrs. J. C. Talbert and Mrs. T J. Wat kins spent last weekend in Richmond, Va., with their sis ter, Mrs. Mayrne Hicks, and Mrs. D. M. Coleman Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Hicks, Anne and Sandra have return ed from a months trip to the west coast. Among the places of interest they visited were the Alamo. Carlsbad Caverns, Petrified Forest. Painted Des ert, Grand Canyon. Disneyland. Yosemite National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Mrs. B. W. Everett of Nor folk spent several days this week in the home of her sister, Mrs. Magnus V. Taylor. Mrs. S. F. Hicks accompanied her to Norlina after an extended visit with her daughter, Mrs. Everett. Mr. and Mrs. Howitt ,Tot) Carter and four children of ' Portsmouth, Va., have moved to the Newman Home on Hyco Street. Mrs. R. L. DeLoach visited relatives in Petersburg. Va., over the weekend. Mrs. Connie Biersdorf of Silver Springs, Md., is visiting Mrs. Elizabeth Hayes. They at tended home-coming services at Calvary Church near Little Ion on Sunday. Mr and Mrs. Clarence Law son and baby of Manassass, V'a , spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. William K. Lif scy. Mr. and Mrs. Billie Lif sev and two children of Rich mond. Va.,' were also recent visitors in the Lifsey home. Mrs. W. N. Carter is receiv ing treatment at Maria Par ham Hospital in Henderson. John Piland of Raleigh is visiting his grandmother, Mrs. J. P Williams. Mr. and Mrs. G. Wuyland Wilson of Clinton were visitors in the Overby and Arnold home last Sunday. Mrs. E. B. Davis and Mrs. Ola Overby attended home coming exercises at Harris Chapel Baptist Church last Sunday. Miss Lucy White of State Collepe spent the weekend in Ni'-lina with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward White, and attended the Burton family re union at I.aCrosse, Va. on Sunday. Mrs Blanche Burroughs .of Afton spent Saturday and Sun day with her daughter, Mrs. Ira Weaver, and family. Mister Wayne Jones has re turned to Norfolk, Va? after spending the summer with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Nance. Mr. and Mrs. Carson Pridg cn and Mr. J. C. Pridgen at tended the re-enactment of the Battle of Manassass recently. They made slides of the battle scenes while there. Mrs. W. D. Martin. Mrs. Er vin Stallings and children spent Tuesday in Raleigh. While there Mrs. Stallings and chil dren visited the Museum. Mr. and Mrs. Willie Martin and Bobby and Mrs. Ervin Stallings and children spent Friday at Virginia Beach. Va., where they met the Rev. and Mrs. Ralph Culler. Mr. Martin, the Rev. Mr. Culler and Ervin Stallings, Jr., enjoyed fishing. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Faulk ener and family and Mrs. W. D. Martin and Carolyn Richard son left Saturday morning to spend sometime at Ocean View and Virginia Beach, Va. Master Lee Taylor of Gum berry spent several days last week "with Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Watson while Mr. and Mrs. Carl Taylor were at White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia and Natural Bridge, Va. Miss Nancy Stevenson visit ed Miss Patsy Ayscue tn Afton last Thursday night. Stew Sale A Brunswick stew sale will be held at the Norlina' Club House on Saturday. The stew, at 75c a quart, will be ready at 12 o'clock. Those wishing to buy the stew are asked to bring containers. Southern pine continues to be the most important wood in the nation's pulp and paper industry. It accounted for about half of all wood consum ed by the nation's pulp mills in I960. Zion WSCS Meets At Mayfield Home Members of the WSCS of the Zion Methodist Church met at the home of Mrs. Boyd May field on Monday evening for their August meeting. Mrs. Mayfield presided and also led the worship period. Following routine business, Mrs. William Hicks presented the program of the evening. "World Federation of Method ist Women." The society welcomed Mrs J. A. Kimball, Sr., as.a visitor Mrs. J. N. Wynn will enter tain the society at its next meeting. Nances Entertain At Picnic On I awn Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Va ; Housewarming Given Hunts \ipmbers of Circle 3 .of the WSCS of the Norlina Methodist Church met at the home of Mrs. Johnny Faulk on Monday evening and went as a group to the home of Mrs. John IT Hunt. Jr.. for a surprise house warming. Mr. and Mrs. Hunt are now living in their newly buijt home near the Supermarket on the Warrenton Road. The Hunts moved from the Nor wood residence on Walker Avenue. Circle 2 Meet At Home Mrs. Draffin Circle No. 2 of the Woman's Society of Christian Service of the Norlina Methodist Church j met at the home of Mrs. F D.'
