arreoton Rural Fire News By BILL CONNELL By BILL CONNELL Fires Since Last Edition On Tuesday night, Decem ber 26, the Company was call ed to a brush fire on the J. Boyd Davis farm on the Nor lina roa0. About ten men an swered the call with the woods truck and the emergency car. The fire was coiifined to about one-half acre. Time out 45 minutes. On Saturday night, December 30, the Company answered a call to the Ernest Lyons home on No Bottom Road. About 15 men showed up with two fire trucks and the emergency car. The fire was extinguished, but the house was considered a to tal loss. No one was at home at the time. The fire was no ticed by a neighbor after it had broken through the roof. Time out about 244 hours. On Sunday afternoon, Decem ber 31, the Company was call ed to the home of Stanley Wil ? liams in the Hecks Grove Com munity. About seven _ men answered the call, and this was a total loss. This call was an swered with two fire trucks and emergency car; also truck > from Inez Auxiliary. Time out 144 hours. Again, let us remind you of the importance of giving com plete details about the fire, in cluding the exact location. Al ways say who is calling. We know you will be excited when reporting a fire, but be as calm as possible when calling. Be sure the person answering the call understands before you hang up. Mrs. Etheridge was ad mitted to Warren General Hos pital on Wednesday to under go surgery. The Rev. and Mrs. David Bobbitt of Charlotte spent Monday night with Mrs. Tem pie Farmer. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Spain and children of Norfolk, Va? visit ed Mrs. Tempie Farmer and Mr. and Mrs. J X) Pope over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. W. E.
