Miss Carolyn Satterwhite of Arlington, Va., spent last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Satterwhite. Miss Frances Manning of Roanoke Rapids, student at Peace College, accompanied Miss Judith Adams home on Tuesday night for a short visit. Messrs. T. V. Adams and Mims Rogers of Davidson Col lege are spending a few days here with Mrs. J. EX Adams. Mrs. J. E. Adams, Miss Judith Adams and Mrs. Elliott Cooke will leave Saturday for Davidson College to attend the graduation exercises. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Rodwell visited relatives in Reidsville on Tuesday. Mr. John Youngblood of Tar boro was an overnight guest of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Harris on Thursday. Dr. and Mrs. Elwood Coley and son of Lumberton were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Harris. Misses Inez Davis and Mary Emma Peele of ECC, Green ville, spent last weekend at Inez. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tucker spent Sunday in Danville, Va., with Miss Betty Tucker, a stu dent at Stratford College. Births Mr. and Mrs. John Hosea Kerr, III, of Goldsboro an nounce the birth of a son, John Hosea, IV, in Wayne Memorial Hospital on May 18. Mrs. Kerr is the former Miss Sandra Egerton of Goldsboro. Mr. and Mrs. James Trotter of Reidsville announce the birth of a son on May 22. Mrs. Trotter is the former Miss Margaret Rodwell of Warren ton. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Seaman, Jr., of Chapel Hill announce the birth of a daughter, Mary Hatdy, on May 12. Mrs. Sea man is the fomer Miss Eliza beth Duke of Greensboro. Christened Alice Bowen White, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. White, in, of Warren ton, was christened by the Rev. Levi Humphreys during the 11 o'clock worship service at the Presbyterian Church on Sun day morning. Attends Federation Meeting Mrs. T. W. Hawkins attend ed the State Federation Meet ing of Women's Clubs in Wins ton-Salem for three days last week. In Hospital Mrs. E. L. Burrows is a pa tient in Warren General Hos pital for treatment. FHA Entertains Parents At Dinner On Tucker Lawn The John Graham Chapter of Future Homemakerg of America enjoyed a delightful outdoor buffet supper honor ing their mothers and fathers on Wednesday afternoon, May 16, in the formal garden at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Tucker. The central buffet table was beautifully appointed with an arrangement of pink peonies in the center flanked by ivy and hurricane lamps. The dessert table, with a colorful table cloth and an arrangement of purple iris, offered an array of tempting pies' and cakes. Guests were seated at small tables, covered with green, pink and yellow covers. On each table were miniature ar rangements of roses. Delicious fried chicken, as sorted sandwiches, potato salad deviled eggs, potato chips and pickles were served. Following the supper Mr. and Mrs. Tucker invited the guests into their home where they enjoyed its elegance anrl beauty. Approximately one hunded and fifteen persons attended. Special guests were Mr. an-J Mrs. J. R. Peeler, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Brown, Jane and Mike Brown, Miss Louise Allen and Miss Emily Burt Person, FHA Advisor. Marriage Licenses Heike Furtwangler, white, of Norfolk, Va., to William Clyde Walker of Norfolk, Va. Visit In Roxboro Mesdamcs J. B Bobbitt, I.. B. Beddoe, J, B. Boyce and Alice Jones visited the Mc Whorter family on Roxboro on Friday night. Mr. J. A. Mc Whorter, father of Mrs. M. C. McGuire, died on Thursday. Last rites were held from the funeral home there on Satur day and interment followed in Georgia on Sunday. Mrs. Rooker Honored Mr. and Mrs. Howard Vaughan of Norlina entertain ed at a family suprise party on Sunday afternoon for the birthday of Mrs. J E. Rooker of Warrenton, who received many nice gifts. Flemings Hold Picnic Dinner The C. H. Fleming family held a picnic dinner on Sun day in honor of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Fleming, Jr., and family of Greenwood, S. C. ,and Mr. and Mrs. George Fleming and 1 family of Washington, D. C. Others attending were Mr. i and Mrs. Franklin Rivers and I family, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. McGowan and family, Mr. and I Mrs. Earlie Shearin and sons, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Rooker and I daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. | Leonard Rudd and daughters, all of Warrenton. I Miss Daniel Honored At Shower Miss Harriet Daniel, bride | elect of August, was honored at a miscellaneous shower giv en by her roommate. Miss Joannette Glass, on May 16 in the parlor of Pegram House at Duke University. There were about twenty guests present. A pink and green color scheme was used. Guests were served ice cake squares, lime sherbert punch, and nuts, after which the honoree opened her gifts. The hostess presented Miss Daniel with a lovely crystal pitcher. Accepts Position Mrs. Clint Hege has accept ed a position in the business office at Warren General Hos pital.
