Thursday, August 15: Afton Home Demonstration Club JACK TOWNS Towns Funeral Is Held On Sunday Funeral services for Jack Towns of Norlina were held Sunday at 3:30 at Burchett's Chapel Cemetery by the Rev. J. M. Hargrove of Hender son, pastor of the church. Burial was in a Henderson cemetery. Mr. Towns died at Warren General Hospital last Thurs day at 10 o'clock as the re sult of a heart attack which he suffered at his home at 9:30 a. m. He was an em ployee of the American Tele phone and Telegraph Com pany for the past 35 years and in April received an em blem in recognition of his thirty-five years service with the company, and congratula tory messages from officials of the company in Atlanta. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pelia Hendricks Towns; five daughters, Mrs. Annie Thomas of Norlina, and Misses Matherlen, Mag Jen kins, Edna B. and Shirley Alston of the hgme; three sons, Henderson of New Jer sey, Robert of Louisiana, and T. D. of the home; three sis ters, Mrs. Emma Yancey, Miss Patsy Towns and Miss Lillie Towns, all of New Yprk; one brother, Joe Towns of White Plains, N. J.; and his mother, Mrs. Annie Towns of Nor lina.
