B. Davis. Miss Linda Workman of Raleigh is visiting her aunt, Mrs. W. K. Delbridge, this week. Mrs. Mary Norris Norman is visiting her sister, Mrs. Lee Bizzell, in Richmond, Va., this week. WMS To Meet The Woman's Missionary Society will hold its August general meeting at the Nor lina Baptist Church on Mon day evening, August 12, at 8 p. m. All members are urged to attend. Representing MYF. Miss Ann Hicks is spending this week at Duke University representing the Norlina Methodist Church at the an nual conference session of the MYF. Norlina Graduates Hold Class Reunion The 1938 graduating class of Norlina High School held its 25 th reunion Saturday, evening, July 20, at Norlina | Woman's Clubhouse. There were seventeen out of a total of twenty-five members pres ent. The evening began with a social hour, after which a delicious dinner was served 'by the Woman's Club. J After dinner, the class president, Miss Elizabeth Robinson, welcomed all the teachers and classmates pres ent. The minutes of the last reunion, which was held in I July, 1960, were read by Mrs. 1 Lorene (Jones) Tanner. It was decided by the members present another reunion would be held in 1968. The honor guests, Miss Emma. Dunn, Mrs. Nellie Reg ister and Mr. L. L. Carter, were recognized and each made a few remarks. Letters were read from Mrs. Margaret (Shotwell) Roane, class teach er and sponsor, Mrs. Mary Louise (Johnson) Woodall, Mrs. Carrie (Bowers) Howell, Miss Helen Gill and Miss Mil dred Bullock. Others attending were Mrs Dorothy (Delbridge) Green, Mrs. Stella Mae (Williams) Rose and husband, Miss Clarice Mae Newman, Mrs. Katie (Clark) Davis and hus band, Mrs. Katherine (Over by) Stallings and husband, Mrs. Edith Mae (Hardy) Ben son, Mrs. Juel (Williams) Duke and husband, Paul Hecht and wife, Charles Mit chell and wife, Lewis Wil liams and wife, Everette King and wife, Creed Satterwhite and wife, Clarence Burton and wife, Benzie King and wife, Warren White, Mrs. L. L. Carter and J. T. Tanner. Young Adults Meet With Norlina Couple Mr. and Mrs. Walter New man were host and hostess to members of the Young Adult Fellowship on Sunday even ing. The meeting was held in the choir room of the Nor lina Methodist Church with Mr. Newman, president, lead ing the worship period and presiding over the routine business session. Mr. and Mrs. Newman are program chairmen for the month of August. The pro gram topic was "Hymns of All Churches." Thirteen dif ferent hymns were used dur ing the program. After each hymn was discussed a quar tet, consisting of Mrs. New man, Mrs. Jack Hawks, W. K Delbridge and Leon Knight, sang with Mrs. W. H. Perkinson assisting at the piano. At the close of the meet ing a social hour was held and refreshments were enjoy ed by the group. Mrs. T. T. Hawks Is spend ing this week with Mr. and Mrs. T. T. Hawks, Jr., In Raleigh. Hiss Yancey Named Nurses' President Miss Sadie Yancey of Hen derson was elected to serve as secretary of the North Carolina Practical Nurse's As sociation, Area 15. at a State Convention recently held in Asheville. During the meeting the nine state divisions were dis solved to be re-organized into 25 new areas. Area 15 is made up of Granville, Frank lin, Vance and Warren Counties. Other officers elected to serve in this area were Mrs. Hazel Isom of Franklinton, president; Mrs. Annie Mac Clark of Oxford, vice-presi dent; and Mrs. Virginia Wil liams of Franklinton, treas urer. During a called meeting held in the home of Mrs Isom in Franklinton on Aug. 2, the new by-laws were read and discussed, along with the work of LPN's in the State of North Carolina. At the board meeting of Division 6, consisting of Wake, Franklin, Vance and Warren Counties, the money that was left in the division treasury was divided into four equal parts and one-fourth turned over to Area 15. The remainder of the money in the Vance-Warren Chapter was also turned over to Area 15. All members of the Vance-Warren Chapters are paid-up members of the area for the remainder of the year, as there will be no more Vance-Warren Chapter in order to comply with the new state laws. The meeting adjourned to meet in the home of Mrs. Florence Clark, 423 Kings bury St., Oxford, N. C., on September 16. It was voted to hold area meetings on the first Friday night in each month. Miss Yancey said the meeting will be integrated and "we are expecting our colored LPN's to help make Area 15 the best and strongest area in the twenty-fitfe." WSCS Circle Holds Monthly Gathering Circle No. 1 of the WSCS of the Norlina Methodist Church held its August meet ing at the home of Mrs. Nel lie Register on Monday after noon. Mrs. W A. Delbridge conducted the devotional and presided over routine busi ness. "A New Ministry Given to College Students and Crusade Scholars" was the topic of the program discussed by Mesdames B. C. Thompson, W. A. Delbridge, M E. Wal ker and C. T. Gallian. Others present, not men tioned above, were Mrs. R. F. Brickhouse and Mrs. J. F. White. During the social hour the group enjoyed ice cream, cookies and lemonade. Mrs. Clarke Hostess To Norlina Circle Circle No. 2 of the Wo man's~~5ociety of Christian Service met on Monday night at the home of Mrs. John Clarke with Mrs. Douglas Draffin as co-hostess. Mrs. J. L. Fleming presided and Mrs. R L. Traylor had charge of the program. Following a responsive reading, Mrs. Leigh Traylor gave an interesting talk on "The Art of Living." The hostesses served lem onade, cookies and nuts. The September meeting will be with Mrs. A. J. Hundley and Mrs. Dwight Scotten will have charge of the program. Tablea were aet up for eight players. High score prize was pre sented to Mrs. B. A. Thaxton, second high to Mrs. D. S. Wimbrow, low to Mrs. H. F. Kelly and bingo to Mrs. Edna Newman. The hostess served fruit juice, nuts and cookies. Zion Woman's Group Meets Monday Night The Zion Woman's Society of Christian Service met on Monday night in the home of Misses Pannie and Willie Robinson. Roberts will en tertain the society in Septem ber. Junior Women Plan Brunswick Stew Sale The Norlina Junior Wo man's Club will sponsor a Brunswick stew on August 15 at the clubhouse. The stew?
