Wtdding (Continued from page6) grandparents of the bride The ceremony waa directed by Mrs. Ella Frazier Whit*, aunt of the bride and lira William Robert Brawer, aunt of the groom, both of Norlina The bride is a rising junior at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she is majoring in Fashion Merchandising The groom is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy. Currently he is an assistant manager and pharmacist at Revco in Greensboro. Following a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S. C , the couple will make their home in Greensboro Wedding Reception Following the ceremony, the bride's parents honored the bridal couple at a reception at the Warren ton Country Club in Warrenton. The guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Andrew Daniel of Norlina and Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Eugene Huffman of East Aurora, New York, uncle and aunt of the bride. Mrs. Nathaniel Per kin son, Jr., of Marriettsville, Md , cousin of the bride and Miss Brigitte Fleming of Warren ton, cousin of the groom, registered the guests. Receiving guests throughout the evening were Mrs. I Jllan Bowman Kilion of Ridgewsy and Mrs. James Rogers Sammoos of Wise. Tbe club was tastefully decorated throughout with lovely arrangements of roses, mixed spring flowers, palms and candlelight The bridal table was covered with a white organza cloth of silk cutwork with a gathered organza skirt. An arrangement of mixed spring flowers flanked by white burning tapers graced the center of the table. Mrs. Wallace Holtzmann of Manson, aunt of the bride, Mrs. Emory Taylor of Henderson, cousin of the bride, Mrs. Curtis Nipper of Raleigh, cousin of the groom, and Mrs. James Dean Sammons of Enfield served punch, ham rolls, assorted sandwiches, chicken salad patty shells, cheese straws, olive balls, clam dip, sweet and sour meatballs, date nut bread with lemon sauce, nuts, bridal mints, and fresh fruits to the guests. Homemade grape wine was served iron, a separate table by Mrs. Ernest Brauer of Norlina. aunt of the groom and Mrs. Thomas Gaskill of Warren ton After the bride and groom cut the first slice of the cake from the traditional four-tiered wedding cake, Mrs. Rodgers Holtzmann of Ridgeway and Mrs. Arnold Holtzmann, Jr., of Manson, both aunts of the bride; Mrs Ralph Geabhart, Jr., of Suffolk, Va., cousin of the bride and Mrs. Carl Fleming of Warrenton, cousin of the groom, served the cake to the wedding guests. Assisting in serving were Misses Karen and Teresa Holtzmann of Manson cousins of the bride. Misses Michelle White of Norlina and Carol Huffman of East Aurora gave out rice bags. Music was provided throughout the evening by James Rogers Sammons of Wise. Goodbyes were spoken by Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Odell Harmon of Greenville, S. C., uncle and aunt of the groom and Mr. and Mrs. Travis Gary White of Norlina, uncle and aunt of the bride. ~ Rcheinal Dtaaer Friday evening at seven o'clock. May 22, Mr. and Mr*. Palmer Wood King of NorUna, parents of the groom hosted a prerehearsal dinner at the Norlina Woman's Club honoring Miss Debra Lynn White and Palmer Wood King, Jr. During the social hour Palmer Wood King, father and, best man offered a toast to the bride and groom. Ed Wood of Charlotte, cousin of both Woody and Debra, served as toastmaster. Miss White was presented a blue silk flower corsage and Mr King a boutonniere. The members of the wedding party and out-oftown guests were served a delicious dinner of baked ham with spiced apple rings, string beans, potato salad, hot rolls and ice tea. Lemon chess pie was served as dessert. The groom-elect chose this time to remember each attendant with a gift The club house was tastefully decorated. After-Rehearsal Party Following the rehearsal Miss White and Mr. King w ere honored at a party at the War rent on Country Club. Guots were the wedding party, out-of-town guests, friends and relatives Throughout the evening the guests eqjoyed punch, aaaorted sandwiches, ham rolls, sausage balls, party mints, hot dogs in sauce, cheese ball, vegetable tray with dip, fresh strawberries dipped in sugar, chutney ball. cheese straws, assorted pickle tray, nuts, cak% squares and champagne. The party was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gaskill, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Daeke, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Bill Connell, Mr. and Mrs Ed Wood, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rogers, Mr. and Mrs F. P. Whitley, Mr and Mrs. B. G. Music for dancing was provided by William Hicks Brunch Mrs. Arnold Philip Holtzmann. Sr., ot Manson, grandmother, honored Miss Debra Lynn White and her bridesmaids, honorary bridesmaids and musicians at a brunch Saturday morning May 23 at the Norlina Woman's Club. Special guests were Mrs. Hal Adams White, Jr., Mrs Palmer Wood King, Mrs Hal Adams White, Sr., Mrs Winfred Eugene Huffman, Mrs. Lonnie Ode 11 Harmon, Mrs. Lillian Bowman Kilian and Miss Margaret Elizabeth Ross. After Mrs. Huffman welcomed everyone, the guests enjoyed fresh strawberries, a chicken salad plate, hot rolls, iced tea, pineapple sherbet and Mitt Defer* Lynn White and Palmer Wood King, Jr., were honored at a buffet supper at 4:90 o'clock Saturday, May 23 at the Norlina Woman's Club Hosts (or the supper were Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Daniel, Mr. and Mrs William Brauer, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Harmon, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dortch, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Brauer and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Roope. Guests included the wedding party, grandparents, and out-oftown guests. Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal of stuffed chicken breast, corn pudding, asparagus-pea casserole, butter beans, peach halves stuffed with cottage cheese, a relish tray, hot rolls, iced tea and lemon tarts for dessert. The honoree was presented a corsage and a odd meat fork in her silverplate pattern. She chose this time to remember her attendants and musicians with gifts. Great A bowl of red and golden Delicious apples and a plate of mild-flavored Camembert or Brick cheese will top off any meal. Miss Paschall Receives Degree A Norlina student was among more than 300 students at Eton College who received degrees on May 24. Among graduates was Donna Louise Paschall, an elementary education major and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Paschall of Rt. 1, Norlina. On Dean's List Pamela E. Epps, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Epps, HI, of Manson has been named on the Dean's List at North Carolina Central University. Miss Epps has maintained a 3.2 average this semester. She is a business administration major with a concentration in marketing. Upon graduation in May, 1982, Miss Epps plans to pursue a career as a marketing analyst. Heavy Loss Some 2 million birds, fish, and animals perished in the May 18, 1980, eruption of Mount St. Helens, and more than ISO miles of trout and salmon streamr and 26 lakes were destroyed.
