Mrs. Clyde Smith and Mrs. Helen Jordan of Raleigh spent Thursday with Mrs. Hugh White. Mr. and Mrs. James Frazier have returned from a month's vacation at Marco Island, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Tucker were in Raleigh last weekend due to the death of Mr. Tucker's sister, Mrs. William Storey. Mrs. Steve Brooks and children, Spence and Hunter, of Louisburg are spending several days here with the Ed ward Hunters. Mrs. W. F. Farmer is visiting her son, Bill Farmer and Mrs. Farm er in Wendell while recovering from a back injury sustained while vacationing in Florida several weeks ago. Mr. and Mrs. Cal White and daughters, Sherry and Angie, were in Greenville, S. C. and Marion, last weekend for visits with their parents. Mrs. Joe Ellis is spending some time in Greensboro with relatives. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Weldon were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hollowell of Blount's Creek. Mrs. Tim Thomp son spent Friday in Hillsborough attending the auction of the Mary Rich Doll collection of Durham. The collection of the late Mrs. Rich contained 3,000 dolls, one of which sold during the auction for $2,500. Mrs. Spencer Scott, Sr. is visiting her son, Spencer Scott, Jr., and Mrs. Scott in Raleigh. Colonel Herman An dersen returned to his home on Tuesday after spending several days at Maria Parham Hospital. Mrs. George e rarwun returned Monday after spending a month in Georgia and in Florida with friends and rela tives. Mitchiner of Raleigh and Mrs. Belle Elling ton of Kittrell visited Mrs. Howard Oakley during the weekend and were here on Sunday for the Howard Oakley memorial service. Couple Announce Birth Of Daughter Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mclnturf of Macon an nounce the birth of a daughter, Leslie Leanne, on Feb. 25 at Maria Parham Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Mcln turf also have a daugh ter, Erin Elizabeth. Mrs. Mclnturf is the former Julia Hall of Richmond. Va. Maternal grandpar ents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hall of Rich mond. The paternal grand mother is Mrs. Dorothy Mclnturf of McCon nelsville, Ohio. DWIGHT AYSCTJE Debbie Ange Weds Native Of Warrenton On Saturday, Feb. 9, at five in the afternoon, Debbie Ange and Dwight Ayscue were united in marriage in a candle light, double-ring ceremony in Jamesville Christian Church. The Rev. Gary Arnold officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ghurman Arqe of Jamesville and the granddaughter of Mrs. Rusha Chesson of Roper. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Ays cue of Warrenton and the grandson of Mrs. Leonie Young of Wise. Mrs. Helen Price, pianist, presented a prelude of nuptial music. Kenneth Holliday played the guitar and sang "The Wedding Song." He was accompanied by Kevin Holliday.—During the ceremony, Giles Stall ings sang "The Wedding Prayer." The altar of the church was beautifully dec orated with a heart shaped candelabra ar rangement of white ! candles with greenery ! entertwined for a center setting. The altar was also flanked by palms. On either side of the altar were two nine branch candle trees decorated with white candles and mixed ar rangements of lavender pompons, white daisies, and white carnations. Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of silk taffeta over peau de soie. The molded bodice, embellished with designs of Venice lace fleurettes embroidered in pearls, was fashioned with a yoke of English net holding a stand-up pearl collar. The Em press sleeves topped at the shoulders with ruffl ed lace and crystal pleated tafetta ended in fitted sleeves of lace ruffled at the wrists. Petite bridal buttons closed the back bodice and the lowered waist encircled with an overlay of lace curved to a basque back. The soft ly flaring skirt was adorned with scalloped lace and extended into a bouffant, chapel-length train. Her bridal hat of silk horsehair braid covered in organza etched in pearl lace fleurettes and pearl stems featured an upturned brim enhanced with silk petals and leaves. Clustered back loop bows of silk illusion held her double waltz length veil. The bride carried her | mother's prayer book topped with a bouquet. Mrs. Cindy Camlin, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Gail Ayscue, sister of the groom, Mrs. Marianne Peedin and Miss Crissie Perry. Flower girl was Miss Jaimie Ayscue. Milton Ayscue was his son's best man. Ushers were Curtis Ange, brother of the bride, Barry Wester and William Twitty. Mrs. Louise Willis and Mrs Lois Ward were mistresses of ceremony. deception Following the ceremony, the bride's parents entertained guests at a reception in the fellowship hall of the church. Mrs. Gladys Short, S131CI U1 IUC UU1U, presided at the registra tion table. Mrs. Date Ange and Mrs. Ava Bar ber served the wedding cake and Mrs. Mary Chesson and Mrs. Joy Hoiliday served punch and coffee. During the reception, Kyle and Jaimie Ayscue, Brooks and Travis Wester and Kristin and Todd Short distributed wedding scrolls to the guests. After the reception, the couple left on a wedding trip to The Balsams, Dix ville Notch, New Hamp shire. They will make their home in James ville. Courtesies On Jan. 19, a bridal shower was given for the prospective bride by her friends in the fellowship hall of Jamesville Chris tian Church. Several friends of the bride-elect entertained her with a dinner at the Pizza Hut on Jan. 22. The faculty and staff at Rodgers Elementary School, where the bride teaches second grade, honored her with a shower on Jan. 24. On Jan. 26, Dr. and Mrs. Martel Dailey and Mr. and Mrs. Barry Wester honored the bridal couple with a cocktail party at the home of the Westers. Employees of Clarks Pharmacy surprised the couple at the bride's home in Jamesville with a Tupperware party. A rehearsal party was held on Feb. 8 honoring the bridal couple in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ghurman Ange. Mem bers of the wedding par ty and their spouses, members of both fami lies, and friends attend ed. On Feb. 9, Mrs. Louise Willis and Mrs. Lois Ward honored the bride elect with a bridesmaids luncheon 11:30 at the Holiday Inn at Cobb's Corner. Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay Hudson Harris of Littleton announce the engagement of their daughter, Pattie Anne, to Leslie Horace Renfrew, Jr. of Pinetops, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Horace Henfrow, Sr. of Lucama. The wedding is planned for May 25.
