Mrs. Lucille Newman of Norlina and Mrs. Annie King of Wise attended the wedding of their granddaughter, Miss Susan Newman, to Bob Fox in McLean, Va. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude M. Newman of Falls Church, Va. The groom is of Pennsylvania. Among the wedding guests were Mr. and Mrs. R. V. VAUGHAN Miss Salmon Weds Richard T. Vaughan In a candlelight ceremony on Sunday, June 30, at Warrenton Baptist Church, Miss Tina Marie Salmon of Norlina became the bride of Richard Terry Vaughan. The Rev. Tom C. Currie officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grady Salmon of Norlina. She is a graduate of Atlantic Christian College and is employed by the Eastern N.C. School for the Deaf in Wilson. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon R. Vaughan, Jr. of Warrenton. He is a graduate of Wilson Technical Institute and is employed by Watson Electrical Construction Company. A program of wedding music was presented by Mrs. Kay Horner of Littleton, organist, and Mr. and Mrs. Randy Daniels of Richmond, Va., vocalists. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Durwood Johnson of Warrenton. Escorted in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown with a chapel-length train of organza and chantilly lace over taffeta. The fitted bodice featured a Victorian neckline with an illusion yoke outlined with chantilly lace and long puff sleeves. Chantilly lace with seed pearls lavishly appliqued the bodice. The flared organza and chantilly lace skirt extended into a chapel-length train. A deep chantilly lace raffled edge bordered the hemline of the gown. Miss Sue Salmon of Aiken, S.C., attended her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the groom's sister, Ms. Annette V. Burrows, of Warrenton; Miss Pam Currie of Norlina, Miss Julia King of Wilson, and Miss Kimberly Vann of Richmond, Va., cousin of the groom. Miss Dana Fleming of Charlotte attended as junior bridesmaid. The groom's father, Vernon R. Vaughan, Jr., served as best man. Groomsmen were Gary R. Vaughan of Henderson, brother of the groom; Keith Paul of Warrenton; Jack R. Barber of Roanoke Rapids, cousin of the groom; and Thomas Salmon of Norlina, brother of the bride. Master Chad Lee Burrows, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer. After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Wilson. Reception A reception was held in the church fellowship hall immediately following the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Watson welcomed the guests. Mrs. Scott Barber of Roanoke Rapids and Mrs. Bobby Vann of Richmond, Va. poured punch. Mrs. Ronald Colston of Gaston and Mrs. Stanley Vaughan of Jackson cut the wedding cake. Mrs. Stephen Daniel cut the groom's cake. Miss Susan Currie registered guests. Courtesies On June 29, the groom's parents hosted an after-rehearsal dinner at their home for members of the wedding party, family, and out-oftown guests. A floating miscellaneous shower in honor of Miss Salmon was given on May 24. Hostesses for the occasion were Mrs. Wallace Allen, Mrs. Allen Campbell, Mrs. Eddie Clayton, Mrs. Stephen Daniel, Mrs. Harold Harris, Mrs. Pete Jones, Mrs. Taylor Mustian and Mrs. Thomas Watson. Norlina Senior Social Club Has Meeting With Drewry Group By 8ADIE YANCEY The Nor Una Senior Social Club held its June meeting with the Drewry group in the St Paul's Lutheran Church social hall due to the renovation of their meeting place. The meeting was presided over by President Oscar Baker and brought to order by the singing of a hymn with Mrs. Alma Matthews at the piano after which the Rev. Douglas Rathjen gave a most interesting devotion using the miracle of the mustard seed from the Gospel of Mark. There were 54 members present and Mrs. Edith Comer received the door prize. June birthdays were recognized. Mrs. Zora King read minutes of the May meeting and the treasurer's report was given by Mrs. Anna Fuller. Baker paid a tribute to a dear member, Mrs. Mrs. Betty Moon To Give Program Mrs. Betty Moon of Savannah, Ga., vocalist, will present a musical program Friday at 8 p. m. at the Norlina United Methodist Church. Mrs. Moon, a Warren County native is a graduate of Tifton, Ga. High School and Asbury College in Wilmot, Ky. She is the wife of the Rev. Bob Moon and they have two children. The vocalist is also the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Holt Fleming, formerly of Norlina, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude J. Fleming of Warren County. Jessie Harris, who was buried Sunday, June 23. Band members were honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Harris was a faithful member of the dub and band and will be greatly missed. Mrs. MoUie Paschall thanked the Lutheran church for the use of their social hall. She then introduced her niece, Mrs. Alma Matthews, and Mrs. Ruby Seaman, who gave a musical pro Circle One Has Meeting Circle One of the Norlina United MethodistWomen met Friday, June 28, in the home of Mrs. Sudie Coleman. All members were present except Mrs. Ruth Knight who was unable to attend. Mrs. Gladys Norwood read from Luke 3:2^31. She gave an interesting devotional from the study book and closed with a prayer for the sick and the shut-ins. Mrs. Coleman read a scripture on "Consulation." She closed with prayer. She also read the minutes of the last meeting. Dues were paid to Mrs. Julia Gallian, treasurer. After a business discussion, the meeting came to 2 close with a prayer by Mrs. Coleman. Refreshments were served during the social hour and were enjoyed by all. Mrs. Coleman invited the group to meet with her in her home in July. gram. The Wlmbrows have a son, Mik, age two years. Mrs. Wimbrow is the former Miss Dawn Hair and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Hair of Norlina. The paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. D. S.
