Warren District Court The following pleas were accepted, or judgments were handed down, dur ing the Dec. 13 session of Warren County Superior Court Judge J. Larry Senter of Kranklinton presided. The term prayer for J udgment means that the judgment in the case is not im posed, providing the defendant abides by certain conditions. In most cases, the defendant will pay court costs. The term frivolous prosecution means the judge has decided the person bringing the complaint did so without just cause. Normally court costs would be imposed on the complainant. Judgements with leave mean the charges may be brought again at a later date. ADETS refers to Alcohol and Drug Education Traffic School. WCJ refers to the North Carolina Department of Correction. DMV refers to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Grant Junior Bums, guilty of speeding 64 in 55 mph zone; ordered to pay $ 10 fine and court costs. Andrew Collins, guilty of assault on a female; ordered confined in the NCDOC for not less than seven months nor more than 12 months. Defendant gave notice of appeal in open court, bond set at $1,000. Defendant ordered to stay away from Susan Faye Collins and not harass, mo lest, assault or bother her in any manner. A violation of these conditions will result in bond forfeiture. Wesley Dale, guilty of probation vi olation; suspended sentence revoked and active sentence invoked. Defendant gave notice of appeal in open court bond set at $5,000, secured. Robert Lee Fitts, charge of exceeding a safe speed was dismissed. Jacob Wallace Hargrove, charge of fictitious card/tag was dismissed. Anthony B. Holland, guilty of careless and reckless driving; ordered to pay a $96 fine and court costs. Barbara P. Jiggetts, guilty of speeding 64 in 55 mph zone; ordered to pay $ 10 fine and court costs. Anthony Jones, guilty of larceny; ordered confined in the WCJ for 60 days. Sentence suspended; defendant ordered to pay $25 fine and court costs and pay $17.05 restitution to Luther Paynter. Clemon Leon Kearney, Jr., charge of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury was dismissed. John Gary Maynard, Jr., Ruilly of speeding 74 in 65 mph zone; ordered to pay $15 fine and court costs. Christellc J. Melvin, charge of unsafe movement was dismissed. Gearl Mullins, charge of worthless check was dismissed. Eugene Perry, guilty of driving while impaired; ordered confined in the WCJ for not less than 60 days nor more than 90 days. Sentence suspended; defendant ordered to pay $100 fine and court costs, surrender license, attend ADETS and pay the fee and complete 24 hours of commu nity service. Defendant gave notice of appeal, continuing bond to remain in ef fect. Maxine V. Robinson, guilty of worth less check; ordered to pay $25 fine and two court costs. Sallie V. Russell, guilty of speeding 64 in 55 mph zone; ordered to pay $ 15 fine and court costs. James Thomas Seward, guilty of driv ing while impaired; ordered confined in the WCJ for not less than 60 days nor more than 90 days. Sentence suspended; defendant ordered to pay $100 fine and court costs and not operate a motor ve hicle except as alloweid in a limited driv ing privilege. Names Switched, Omitted In Article In a story in last week's issue of this paper about Cochrane, some er rors and an omission were made. In the picture of two computer technicians and a supervisor, the supervisor's name should have been listed as Charles Montague, not "BoBo" Alexander.
