Junior-Senior Banquet Given Wakelon High School upper classmen reached the social high light of the school year Friday evening, when the Junior Class was host to the Seniors, the faculty, and members of the school board and their wives. The banquet was staged in the Home Economics Department. The theme of the affair was a rainbow, with decorations in keeping with this idea. The three course banquet fol lowed a toast to the seniors by Frankie Hall, toastmistress, which was answered by Ferd Davis, who i s the president of the Senior Class. It was served by members of the sophomore Home Economics class. Throughout the evening the guests were entertained by musical numbers by Miss Hilda Fuller Dorothy Winstead, Mary Frances White, and Elizabeth Buflfaloe. A toast to the rainbow was giv en by Miss Mary Frances White, followed by an amusing rainbow contest won by Ferd Davis. Other toasts were to the school board by Eunice Outlaw,, w-ith re sponse by Mr. C. V. Whitley; to the cooks by Grace Stallings with response by Miss Mary Lacy Palm er; to the faculty by Innie Perry with response by E. H. Moser. The dinner was concluded with a farewell by Frankie Hall. Earpsboro News Most every farmer in this com munity has started plowing again after the long rainy spell. The cold weather has checked the tobacco plants’ growth. Mr. Joe Pulley is afraid his but ter beans are killed by the cold wind and rain. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Lewis of rear Zebu’on spent Sunday w-ith Frank’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Lewis. Mr. Leonard Lewis and Mr. Hu bert Tant spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lewis. Mr. Millard Parrish’s baby is improving from pneumon a. Mrs. J. D. Driver and children were week end visitors of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Lew-is. Some of the people of this com munity went down to Middlesex on Tuesday night to enjoy a negro minstrel that was sponsored by the Middlesex Council, No. 336. The mistrel was given in the High School auditorium for the benefit of the base ball team. Mr. Gilliam Lewis is helping his brother of Zebulon move. Mrs. J. S. It is reported that Miss Pattic, Lon Avent who was formerly em-! ployed at a Sanitorium in Town son, Md. will journey to Florida and marry an associate atten tondant in Florida.
