Marriages CHAMBLEE-EBERHART The marriage <>f Miss Coressa Eberhart to Wallace Chamblee in M illedgeville, Ga., on last Thurs day was of much interest in this section where both have many friends. The bride was for several years a member of the faculty at Wakelon. The ceremony was per formed by Rev. A. G. Hams of Macon in the Presbyterian Church and was followed by a reception in the home of the bride’s parents. Miss Willetta Eberhart sister of the bride was maid of honor at the wedding and M. B. Chamblee father of the bridegroom, was best man. Tittle Joanne Grote of Cos Cob. Conn., formerly of Zebulon, and niece of the bride, was flower jrirl. At the reception truests were greeted by Mrs. Fred Josey. form erly Miss Mary Eberhart sister of the bride, and were shown through the gift room into the diningroom bv another sister, Mrs. Myron F. Grote. formerly of Zebulon, now of Cos Cob Conn. In the receiving line with the bridal party and the parents of Mr. and Mrs. Cbamblee were the following members of the bridegroom’s immediate family connection: Mr. and Mrs. John Liles of Sanford; Mr. and Mrs. Burke McConnell of Burlington; Miss Melba Chamblee, Mr. Fred erick Chamblee. Dr. Edward Her ring. Mr. and Mrs. Cbamblee are now on a trip through western Notrh Carolina after which they will be at. home in Zebulon. HODGES-RHODES Announcement has been made of the marriage in Chatham, Virginia, on May 13 of Miss Bettie Belle Rhodes to H. A. Hodge, Jr. of Ral eigh. Mrs. Hodge is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Rhodes. She graduated at Wakelon with the class of ’34. DR. RONDTHALER INJURED Dr. Howard E. Rondthaler, pres ident of Salem College, is in a hos pital in London as result of an au tomobile smash in Southern Eng land several weeks ago. He is pain fully. though not seriously, hurt. Haywood Jones has returned to Florida Zeda Jones, attendant in State Hospital, spent the past week-end in Bunn. Mr. and Mrs. George Shearon spent last week in Oxford. Miss Hilda Gerganus from Dur ham spent last week with Gladys Mae Winstead. Five of A. H. Shearon’s girls are home on a vacation. Helen has been working in Marion. Luta is in training for nursing in Philadel phia Avis and Mrs. A. L. Thomp son from Roseboro and Mrs. G. H. French from Draper. Miss Nanette Clive and brother from Tennessee are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Charles Richardson. Pleasant Hill News The farmers in this section are awfully busy baming tobacco; it seems the hot weather is causing a lot to be lost in the field. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Privette an nounce the birth of a son, Bruce Carlton . July the 26. Mr. and Mrs. Caveness D. Pur year of Rolesville announce the birth of a daughter July 14. Mrs. E. E. Hood and Mrs John Triplet of Jonesville spent the week-end with Mrs. E. W. Hood. Arthur Puryear of Knightdale spent a while at T. Y. Puryear’s Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. William Jones have moved from Raleigh to Mr. B. K. Horton's. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gay of Trenton, N. J. are spending some time with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W T . Gay. Phillips spent last Thursday* at Duke Hospital for treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Ennis Puryear spent Saturday night at Mr. Joe Moody’s near Rolesville. Just a few’ lines about the hottest days. When I was a child it seem ed the hottest days were when we went to church on a shop made buggy with no top, a rather long body with a little extra seat for us children when we would come | home about 12:30. My father never missed a Sunday from Sunday School or church service then and we walked every Sunday except church days when grandma would go. And last week I think we had some old time hot days when we couldn’t find a cool part of the day to go to the garden for vegetables. Some say it was the hottest wea ther they ever saw. , Rolesville I Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Matheny spent the week end with relatives at Ellenboro. Mrs. B. P. Rogers has gone to New York for a few days. Mrs. A. L. Pruden and baby are spending some time at Plymouth with relatives. We are sorry to say Mrs. Ben nie Daniel is ill at Mary Elizabeth 1 also Mrs. J. G. Utley is real sick at her home. | Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Pearce of Raleigh visited their parents Sun day. Death of W. B. Bowling On July 26 Mr. W. B. Bowling 1 died at his home in Rolesville as- I ter an illness of five weeks. The | funeral was conducted at the Bap tist church by his pastor, Rev. H. O. Baker and Dr. W. R. Cullom. He was a member of the Masonic Or der of Youngsville. He is survived by five children, Mrs. H. H. Wil liams, Douglas, Ga.; J. T. and Robert Bowling, Rolesville; W. S. Bowling. Apex; and Allie B. Bowl ing, Rolesville. He died full of years, and respected by his friends and neighbors among whom he liv ed. ADMINISTRATRIX’S NOTICE Having qualified as Administra trix of the Estate of Boomer B.
