It is thought she can probably leave Park View Hospital for her home in Middlesex within the next week. NEW BEAUTY PARLOR OPENS The A 1-Quin Beauty Parlor has opened in the Duke building back of the post office. This parlor is operated for colored people. Mrs. Burma Pretty of Durham is in charge. The parlor has a large nice room and is well-furnished and equipped for beauty parlor work. FAMILY REUNION The Baker family held their an nual reunion Sunday, June 6th at the home of J. S. Baker, Zebulon, Route 3. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Baker, Rosa Mae, Roger, Pol ly, and Ned Baker, Mr. and Mrs I. C. Privette, and Mrs. Williford Up church, all of Zebulon, R. 3. Miss Mary Elizabeth Campen has graduated from Johns-Hopkins Training School for nurses although 'her three years residence will not be completed until next September. NEGRO FORUM TO BEGIN ON SUNDAY, JULY FOURTH On Sunday, July 4th, there will begin at the Wakefield-Zebulon School a series of Forums sponsor ed by the local school committee. The programs will begin at 2:30 P. M. There will be no admissions nor silver offerings. The purpose of the forums is to bring to the people of the com munity information on important phases of civic life which should interest everyone. The forums wit be held on the first and third Sundays of each month. Political, religious, educa tional, hygienic subjects will be dis cussed. The audience will be giv en opportunity to ask questions. At the first forum, W. R. John son, Field Worker and Consultant among Negroes, in the State De partment of Welfare will bring in formation about Social Security. Subjects and speakers for succes sive Forums will be announced from time to time.
