Page Six PLEASANT HILL Most of the farmers in this sec tion have started this week to barn tobacco. So come on down Sallie if you want to get gummed up. Everything is needing rain. Al though crops look better around Zebulon and Wendell than of any place I know. We are glad to report that Mr. Billie Horton has returned from Rex Hospital, but he has to go back for more X-Rays. Mrs. Naomi Puryear Carter re turned home Monday at 325 East Morgan Street, Raleigh, from the Mary Elizabeth Hospital, after an appendix operaation. She is still confined to her room. Born to Mr. and Mrs. John Car ter, was a daughter on July 12th, at Mary Elizabeth Hospital. Mrs. Carter is the former Miss Mary Bell Moody of Rolesville. Mr. and Mrs. James Blackley of Rolesville spent Sunday with his sister, Mrs. A. O. Puryear. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Agan of New Jersey have been spending some time with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Starnes. Mrs. Margaret Wood of Olivia, N. C., spent part of last week with her sons, Mr. Perry and Pressie Wood. Mrs. D. A. Gay and children vis ited at the home of her mother, Mrs. E. W. Hood, on Sunday. Miss Billie Dove Hopkins of Wallace, is spending some time at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Hood. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Wood and children, and Mr. Joe Yancey Thorne motored to Olivia Sunday. Miss Geraldine Hood is spending this week in Raleigh with aunt, Mrs. D. A. Gay. —Mrs. T. Y. Puryear HOPKINS CHAPEL Many in our community have been to the mountains during the past week. Among them are: Mr. and Mrs. Milton Brannan, Willie Brannan, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bunn, Betty Lou Bunn, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hopkins, Phyllis El lington, Mr. and Mrs. William Hopkins, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Rich ards and Emma Sue Richards. They all enjoyed the trip. Mrs. Ivey Bridges and Mrs. Min nie Perry are the sick this week. We hope they will soon be feeling much better. Mrs. W. H. There will be a choir practice Friday night at the church. The Wake County Vocal Union is to be held Sunday, Julyy 18, at Hopkins Chapel Church at 1:00 o’clock. We invite everyone to come. Any choirs are especially in vited to attend. Stell Family Has '4B Reunion Here Sunday The reunion of the Pittman Stell family was held last weekend at the family homeplace. All were present by supper time on Sat urday. Arriving on Friday were the Rev. and Mrs. Rex Duckett of St. Petersburg, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. Karl Culbreth and little son Rex, of Miami, Fla. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Shamburger, Miss Betsy Shamburger and Van Shamburger, of Richmond, Va., came, as did Mr. and Mrs. Carter Studdert of Winston-Salem, and Mr. and Mrs. Neil Goodnight of Gastonia. Living in Zebulon are Mr. and Mrs. Jethro Stell and Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Duckett will be here three weeks, the other visit ors having left for their homes the first of the week. On Monday morning Mrs. Pitt man Stell and Mrs. B. H. Johnson were hostesses at a coca-cola party in compliment to their houseguests. Pink roses predominated in the arrangements of summer flowers used in decoration. Sandwiches, cheesestraws, cookies, pickles and nuts were served with the coca colas.
