Friday, September 10, 1948 Mrs. Theo. B. Davis Is Honored by Class The regular meeting of the Dav is Fidelis Class was held Monday night in the home of Mrs. J. S. Buffalo. The annual election of officers was held and a study was made of their duties. The retiring president, Mrs. Paul Strickland, was in charge, and the devotional was led by Mrs. Douglass Cooke. Following the business session the social hour was a surprise birthday party for the teacher, Mrs. Theo. Davis. The dining room table, covered with an imported linen cloth of Chinese make, bore a large centerpiece of dahlias, as ters and tube-roses. White tapers formed presents partially encircl ing a large, elaborately decorated birthday cake at one end of the table a service for ice cream at the other. These were served by the hostess and the class presi dent. Other members served ginger ale. On returning to the living room the honoree was showered with miscellaneous gifts.
