Page Eight Hopkins Chapel Hopkins Chapel Community is very fortunate. Rev. Charles Ho ward has promised to be our re vival preacher during the week of June 19 to June 25. Bible School will be held the same week. Trans portation will be furnished for children who wish to attend. A series of weekly prayer meet ings will begin Wednesday night and will be held each Wednesday night until the revival begins. We urge each Christian who desires a revival to come to this prayer and worsfajo service. The T Lovie Perry Bible Class re ceived a pleasant treat last Sunday morning at Sunday School. Mrs. J. C Little, mother of Mrs. Raymond Perry, who is visiting Mrs. Perry here from Canada, taught the Sunday School lesson. A’l the class reported that they thoroughly en joyed the lessons. Miss Isabel Little, sister of Mrs. Perry, also visited in that class. Our cemetery looks very un kempt and untidy. It is covered with weeds and briars. Mr. Frank Howell has asked all our church members to decide next Sunday what day they will assemble to carry on a clean-up campaign of the church yard and the cemetery. Let’s all be on hand to decide and what is more important, let’s be on hand to help at the decided time. Many of our church members left after Sunday School to go to Wilson to the Singing Convention. In doing so, they missed an inspir ing message by our pastor, Mr. Morgan. He preached on the bar riers that keep us from the will of God for our lives. He spoke of Christian as sometimes* being in God’s way. That is something we should all think about. We may be a stumbling block, keeping some one from God. We have bought new maps and black boards for use in the Sun day School Class rooms. They certainly are a great help in teach ing the lesson and in our Training Union programs. Mr. and Mrs. Milford R. Killion and family are hack from Texas and are visiting Mrs. Iris Temple. —Velva Pleasant Hill We had 203 for Sunday School last Sunday. We have been mak ing an average of 200 for some time now. We like to see our Sunday School grow. In the absence of our pastor, Rev. Joe Roach, our message was by Mr. Linwood Murphy of Wen dell, and it was wonderful. We are sorry to report Mr. W. B. Gay is ill, and also Mr. Roscoe Eltord has mumps. Our sympathy goes out to the family of Mr. Tom Hester and Mr. Jack Todd. Mr. Hester’s funeral Insurance Insurance Is Protection \gainst your worst enemies —Fire, Storm, Accident. See D. D. Chamblee The Insurance Man was held Saturday and Mr. Todd’s Sunday. Mrs. Dona Todd was able to ge out for church and Sunday School Sunday. Little Marvin Puryear had mea sles last week. Mr. and Mrs. T. Y. Puryear are improving some from rheumatism. Mrs. Lillie Horton is visiting her brother, Mr. Oris Horton. We are sorry she is not feeling well. Mrs. Sa'lie Horton stays about the same. We were sorry to hear of Mr. Tom Harris falling and breaking some ribs. He was taken to Mary Elizabeth Hospital Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Carter, Mr. and Mrs. John Carter, and Mr. Joe Moody went to Cherry Point Sun day to see their daughter, Mrs. Stanley Atkinson. Mr and Mrs. T. Y.
