Son Michael is too ob servant, as are all kids, so I’ve heard. It has gotten so that when we tell him to do something, he is either “Too busy” or “Too big.” Or else it will be done tomorrow or Monday. Whenever I hear one of his excuses, I feel guilty, for I know that at some time or the other he has heard me come out with the same reason when I want to put off doing something Judy I wants done. • Milton Brannon tells about a couple of ladies he once took for a ride in his airplane. “Now, look here, young man,” one of the pas | senders warned. “Don’t you let tMs thing go faster than sound. My friend and I want to talk.” Milton throttled his Piper J-5 back a few rpm’s and let them talk. • I used to wear my sports shirt outside my paints, but I did not The Zebulon Record feel at all wronged when I read E. V. Durling’s condemnation of the practice because it “makes a man look something like an ex pectant mother.” He is right. But, if you must wear a shirt, it is cool er out than in. • Speaking of clothing, what rea son is there for neckties? Or hand kerchiefs in coat pockets? Or belts with suspenders? Or buttons on coat sleeves? They add expense and succeed mostly in diminishing comfort. • The customer is always right un til his bill is overdue. Cards of Thanks I want to express my apprecia tion and thanks to the Volunteer Fire Department for saving my out buildings Saturday at 2 a. m. One building was burned, but others were saved. Winston Perry. • I wish to express my sincere thanks and appreciation for the many cards and letters that I received during my confinement in the hospital. Your kindnesses will always be remembered.
