Farmers Market Now Open
The Raleigh Farmers Market has
a retail shed that is opening up for
farmers on Saturdays at the pres
ent time, according to Jim Gra
ham, Manager of the Market. He
stated that when local pi oduce was
more in season, this shed could be
opened every day.
Mr. Graham reported that the
shed was for retailing and that any
farmers interested in selling some
of his or his neighbors could rent
the stalls by the day or by the
month and he also welcomes any
people who would like to come in
and buy fresh produce.
G. W. Miller, Jr., County Agent
states that he thinks that the mar
ket has the facilities to meet every
person's needs from the
housewife to the wholesale buyer
and seller and that all farmers
were welcome to visit this facility
and inquire as to where they can
fit into the market picture.
Mr. Graham also reported that

A driver violation was noted in
57 per cent of the fatal auto smash
ups in North Carolina last year.
It means, according to a Motor Ve
hicles Department study, that well
over half of the drivers involved
in death-dealing accidents were
acting unlawfully, unsafely and
unwisely at the time death struck.
Road and vehicle defects ac
counted for six per cent of the fa
