' - - .' : Some of the Carolina men who went to the fair had a chance to come in Communication with some of the men who came here with the Wake Forest football team. We have heard two of the aforesaid Carolina boys report that the Wake Forest team were highly pleased with the treatment they re ceived while guests here on the Hill. Wake Forest men are not the only men who give Carolina credit for be ing a most hospitable institution. Gen erally speaking it .would seem that every college would as a matter of course treat a visiting team with the greatest consideration and courtesy. But every week there come to our no tice instances when some fida members of the association be hind these teams. No wonder the teams are alwavs handicapped. There . - r must be at least four hundred bona fi de members of the Athletic Associa tion. Besides the miserable show of vital interest witnessed by this small enrollment there is also a grave danger embodied. To say that the Athletic Association has only one hundred mem bers means that the whole control of athletics in the University is in the hands of a small minority of the stu dents. In every question concerning athletics this small minority is going to rule. Suppose this body shall, some time, be called upon to decide a ques tion that will be vitally important to the whole university. Every man here wants a "say-so." The only way to get this is to become a member of the association. Today is the last day of grace. You must join today and pay up at once or you get no voice in the rule of athletics. . Chief-chbkker Graham has been going out on the athletic field every afternoon to lead the cheering on the side lines. The support he has been given has been pretty good but there are not enough men out to make the yells count much. There are very few men in college who can't go out to the athletic field from five to six every afternoon. Why not have a big crowd out to yell every afternoon? Every year we get together about a week be fore the Thanksgiving game and prac tice yelling. We do wonders too with such a little practice. Let's see if we can't surpass everything that has ever been done in the cheering- line this fall. Everybody go to the football field this evening at three o'clock and jell, yell, yell.
