Article 5 Duties of Officers and Com mittees. Sec. 1. (a) The secretary shall be chosen from the senior ? class, (b) It shall be his duty to keep a record of all the proceedings of the association. He shall keep also a roll of; members and shall have it together with the minute book at all meetings duly called. Treasurer, (a) The treasur er shall be chosen from the senior class e a (b). (c). It shall be his duty to collect all fees due to the As sociation, and to keep a record of the same. The Treasurer, , before entering upon his duties shall give a bond, the amount of which shall be fixed by, the Finance Committee, and the bond must also be approved by the Committee. The As sociation shall pay all fees necessary for the procurement of the Treasurer's bond.-'.- ; v. ' Sec, 5. Managers of teams, (a). No person shall be eligible to the office of Manager of the football team or base ball team who has not served at least one term as sub-manager, (b). It shall be the dutv of the Manager of each team to prepare a ; schedule of James for his team; to make suitable provision for the comfort of his teams while on its trips; to arrange for the accomodation of visiting teams; to provide for the clothing of his team; and to hold in trust all moneys which may come into his hands; and he shall have authority. to expend such ; sum as may be necessary to meet the obli gations incurred by his team. (c). At the end of the season each managei hall tiitm over to the Treasurer of tin Association all the money in his bands, and shall make' an itemized statement of all his 2 transactions to the Finance Committee, (d). At least two sub-managers and if necessary more shall be elected by the Associa tion to assist the managers of the football and baseball teams, (e). The sub-managers shall be chosen from the Junior and Sophomore classes. Sec. 7- Sec. 6 Finance Committee. (A). This Committee shall be com posed of five members, two, and only wo, of which shall be members of the acultv. The members of this Com- mittee shall be appointed by the Presi dent of the Association, acting by and with the advice of the Vice-President and Secretary. It shall be the duty of this Committee to hear all claims aerainst the Association; and to make all orders on the Treasurer for the pay ment of moneys. ' (B) It shall be the duty of the Fi nance Committee to employ coaches for the various teams. (C) This Committee shall ins pect the books of the Treasurer I and the various Managers at the end of the season, and shall make a report to the Association at the end of each term. It shall have authority also to' inspect f ral treasury of the athletic association. I tne books of any officer at anytime, Committee on Rules and Re- , gulations. ; ; 5 (A) This Committee shall be com posed of five members, three of whom shall be members of the faculty ap pointed by the President of the Uni versity; and two of whom shall be stu dent members of the Association. ; (B) It shall be the duty of this Com mittee to make rules to govern athl etics, to determine the elegibilityr of men desiring to play on the team and to represent the Association in disputes with other colleges as t j rules and eligibility of players. j Sec. 8-Comraittee on Recommendaticn. (A) This Committee shall be Con -posed of the Finance Committee, the members of the Committee on Rules and Regulations, the President, Vice President.the Secretary.and the.Trea -urer of the Association, the Manager of the Football, Baseball, and Track teams, Editor-in-chief of the Tar Heel and the director of out-door athletics. (B) This Committee shall meet on the fourth Saturday of each month, and at such times as the chairman shall call it together. v : (C) The Chairman of the Committee on Rules and Regulations shall be , ex officio CI a rman of this Committee'. , (D) It shall be the duty of this Committee to consider the general business of the Association and to make such recommendations to the Association, and to its officers anu Jommittees as may seem to it exped ient; but this Committee shall have no powers other than of recommenda tton. It shall advise the' Association, but shall not act for the Association Sec. 9 Committee for Awarding Sweaters. (A) A Committee for awardin- sweaters snail be appointed for each of the teams. Eeach Committee shall consist of the Captain, Manager, and Loach of the paiticular team and two additional members to be appointed by the President of the Association; one of whom shall be a student and the other a member of the faculty. : (B) Each of these committees shall at the end of the athletic seasuii se lect such men as have by their aihelt ic attainments shown themselves worthy of sweaters; and , shall report at the last meeting of the Association the number of sweaters and to whom given on the different teams. Article 6 Amendments. Sec. 1 ;.. :-(V; ;;' . The Constitution shall be amended only by a two thirds vote of all the members eligible to vote at a meeting regularly called for amending. But each amendment must besubmitted in writing, read before the Athletic As sociation, and allowed to lie; on the table one week before it shall become apart of this constitution, BOYS!
