Lafayette Defeats Carolina Defeat came to Carolina for the first time this season when in Winston-Salem Monday Lafayette won a 6 to 1 victory. .Demott started thing's with a rush, fanning- the first four men to face him, but the fifth, Duncan landed on a swift one, and before the right fielder could out run it, had crossed the pan with Carolina's only run. The only other hit was secured by Hamilton in the fourth. Both pitched excellent ball. Hedgepetn fanned 14 and allowed only two hits. Demott fanned 12 and allowed 2 hits. ; Captain Stewart went in for Hedge the in seventh after two men had walked, but Lafay ette found him for two hits which combined with Carolina's errors gave the Northeners the game. Program for Class Series The managers of the different class baseball teams met a few days ago, and arranged a championship series of games for the coming season. There will be only one game between the same teams, Most of these games will be played on the regular athletic field during the absence of the Varsi ty, But owing to the large number of games to be played, some of them will have to be played at other times on the class ball field.
