J ivil.iju i'.iti'AiiLA.nD - Stiff Writer A University student is registering voters in his derm room. Greg Cranford of 246 Hinton jEmes is 'the Democratic precinct judge for the Mason Farm voting district. The district includes Hinton James and Craige halls and married student housing on South Cranford began registering students Sept. 1 0 and will continue thr ough Oct. 6. To register, a student should check by Cranford's room. If he is not in, the student should leave his name and phone number on a sign on Cranford's. door. Cranford will return the call. Twenty students have responded so far. Cranford posted signs in dorms on South Campus. The low interest is "due to the fact that students are isolated into the University. They're into academics and activities on campus," Cranford said. In other registration news, Orange , County voters who have moved must notify the Board of Elections of their new address by Oct. 6. This may be done at the Chapel Hill Municipal Building or at the Carrboro Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Friday, from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, W ednesday and Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Residents also may register to vote during . those hours. Voters also may notify the elections board of the address change by sending a letter to the Orange County Board of Elections, P.O. Box 220, Hillsborough, N.C. 27278. Voters must send both their new and old addresses and the date of the move. ...7 .1. . f " V im I . . -... Want to tell someone you care? Sell some books?
