Editor Post : As there has been a great
clamor about 'the offices to be distributed
by ' the new Board pt Aldermen, and as
some men are raving and ranting ; about,
raising a hue and cry demanding one office
or more for a certain class of men on the J

first time, "a question of color," I consider
it my duty, it I stand singly and alone, be

Let the Board of -Aldermen decide these
questions, and apportion thescfjoffices with
out regard to ibeqoestion of color.!' The
only consideration should be is he honest,
is be a true Republican, is be capable and

one that will serve as an enduring example
to CTery Other city in North Carolina.
