Wilson From 1 “It was a great success, especially for the re cipients,” Wilson said. “I look forward to doing it again very soon.” Wilson moved back home to care for her 98-year-old father, Alexander Wilson, upon the death of her mother in 2011. Mr. Wilson is a World War II veteran. Since then she has become involved more in the Bertie County community. Her motto, “It’s better to give than receive” is something she says is dear to her heart. Annie Wilson (center) was recnetly sworn in for her second term as Register of Deeds in Bertie County. Wilson was re elected in November, and took the oath in December. Members gathered at 12 noon to separate and prepare the toys and school supplies that were going to be hand ed out to each child that attended starting at 5 p.m. “We gave out toys and school supplies to each child who came out. I would like to give a special thanks to the USS Coast Guard of Elizabeth City for their donations,” said Toys for Tots Event Director Brenda Cooper. BCHD sets clinic slate WINDSOR - The Bertie County Health Depart ment has slated its clinics schedule for the coming year. There is a fee, based on income, for most clinics.
