When will they learn that you can’t do embar rassing, and or dumb stuff, without people noticing? I’m not talking about Dwyane Wade showing up to the game in capri pants or Odell Beckham Jr. live streaming from the hot tub. While both of these examples fit under the categories of embarrassing and dumb, they were also both done not only in front of, but with cameras in mind and a desire for the public to see. I’m referring more to the likes of Clem- son defensive tackle Christian Wilkins. No. 42, as most of us know him, is the sophomore All-American who groped an Ohio State player while he laid face-down, stuck un der another Clemson defensive lineman. It made me want to pull him aside and ask, “Young fella, are you high? Did Trump’s win make you think that you could go around grabbing peo ple by the crotch?” Why would you think that is an okay thing to do, even in an en vironment where eye gouging and biting oc curs?”. It also begs the question, “Did you not think that ESPN was going to have a few cameras at the game?”. It was the Col lege Football Playoff Semifinals, they had more than 60 cameras including the SkyCam, 4K cameras that allow for super-slow mo tion, and four cameras in all eight pylons. He’s not the only one to forget that there were cameras at his job. Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib invited Michael Crab tree to throw hands by snatching his gold chain between plays on nation television. It’s worth noting that Mr. Crabtree declined LA girls end Rams’ streak Baker’s free throw seals 46-45 victory over Ridgecroft MERRY HILL - The streak is over. Lawrence Academy’s varsity girls basket ball team slipped past Ridgecroft School 46-45 on Tuesday (Jan. 3) in a Tarheel Independent Conference game at home. The victory snapped the Rams’ 16-game TIC win streak and was the first over Ridgecroft in three tries for Lawrence this season. LA head coach Lee Hoffman said the differ ence in this win and the losses against the Rams was two-fold. “We made some big shots in big situations, and defensively we ex ecuted our game plan to hold down their scor ers,” he said. Baker hit one of two free throws with seven seconds left to secure the win. After falling behind early in its previous two losses against Ridge croft, Lawrence bolted to a 13-1 lead behind Baker and Edmondson, but the Rams ralied to cut the deficit to five at the end of the quarter. A late run in the sec ond stanza helped Ridgecroft pull within a point at halftime (24- 23). McKenzie Brown, who finished with 16 points for Ridgecroft, gave her team a six-point advan tage late in the third quarter (37-31), and her basket to start the final stanza made it an eight- point lead. Lawrence finished the game with a 15-6 run, including seven straight points (Baker and Kat- lynn Stotesberry), a key go-ahead bucket from Edmondson and then Baker’s winning foul shot. Baker led the Warriors with 25 points, while Ed mondson added eight points, Rebekah Good win chipped in six and Katlyn Stotesberry had four. Ln Vi ,i!
