Bertie honors 2016-17 athletes From staff Reports WINDSOR - Bertie High School honored its 2016-17 athletes at its annual awards banquet last week. Awards were present ed in baseball, softball, tennis, cheerleading, varsity boys and girls basketball, boys and girls track, volleyball and football. Greg Williams Jr. was named the Male Ath lete of the Year, while Sha’Nidra Outlaw was tabbed as the Female Athlete of the Year. Corey Cherry was honored with the STEM Highest Academic Aver age for males, and Out law earned the same award for females. The Early College Highest Academic Aver age Female was award ed to Megan Williams. Gregg Proctor earned the High School High est Academic Average honor for males.
