They arc now making their home with the groom's, parents. . - Farewell Party Given Mr.. arid JMjs. Young Oh Tuesday evening, Oct. 4, about twenty-five members, of the senior and adult B. Y. P. U. class es met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Wyman for a social hour. Games were played and re freshments Were enjoyed. The function was tendered as a farewell party for Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Young, who are leaving the latter part of the week to Oregon. Mrs. Flanagan and Miss Wyatt Entertain Mrs. J. A -Flanagan and Miss Myrtle .Wyatt were joint hostesses Monday afternoon at a tea at the home of the former, tendered Miss Helen yatt, of Menlo, Ga., sis" ter of Miss Wyatt. Those invited to meet the honor guest were: Mrs. Helen Macon, Misses Cornelia McKimmons, Ros alie Morrow, Lily Calloway, Jen nie Gilian, Helen Burch and Rose Rogers. Children Enjoy Balloon Party A delightful affair of last Satur day was the balloon party at -which little Misses Frances and Beatrice Davenport were hostesses at their home on Rogers Hill. The dining room was artistically decorated in various color baloons, and each child was presented a balloon as a souvenir. At the conclusion of the many out-door games, the guests were invited into the dining room, where they were served delicious refresh ments. About twenty-five children were invited and everybody reported a delightful time. Miss Mary Eller returned last week from Commerce, Ga., where she had been for several days visiting relatives and friends. Miss Vclma Peek is visiting her FIREPROOF up parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. T. Peek, at the Peck hotel. Grover Jamison has been confin ed to his bed for several weeks at his home on Palmer street, and is reported to be slightly improved. Mrs. Sarah Holland, is seriously ill at her home on Cullasaja with pneumonia. . Mis? Carrie Lee Pannell, who is doing stenographic work in Clay ton, Ga., spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Pannell, at, their home in' East Franklin. E. C. Rankin left Sunday y for Atlanta; where he will spend sev eral months. Mr. Rankin is con nected with the Marshall's office in the United States court. . . Misses Gladys, and Helen Sellers spent last week-end in Atlanta Miss Mary Bissell and Miss Fit simmons and James Hauser left last week for California where they expect to spend this winter. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gibson, of Leatherman, spent the week-end here with Mrs. Gibson's father, Mr. John E. Rickman. s Mrs. Amber Ensley and children left last Saturday for Conover, where they expect to make their home for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Mashburn, Mr. and Mrs. John Burleson, Miss es Carrie, Maude and Alba Burle son, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Alli son, of Sylva, spent Sunday in Bakersville and Spruce Pine. Mr. and Mrs. James Palmer and son, John Lyle, and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Russell were visiting, in Gainesville, returning by way of Neals Gap Sunday. Mrs. I. T. Peek is spending several days with her mother, Mrs. Sarah Holland, who is seriously ill at her home on Cullasaja with pneumonia. Mrs. J. B. Stalcup is spending several days in Waynesville, visit ing her daughter, Mrs. Russell, and her sister, a Mrs. Allen. Miss Helen Wyatt, of Menlo, Ga., is spending this week here with her sister, Miss Myrtle Wyatt, at the home of Rev. J. A. Flanagan. W. C. Miss 'Leona Rickman, daughter of Postmaster John E. Rickman, and one of the head nurses at Angel Brothers' hospital, is suffer ing severely from rheumatic fever and is reported to be unimproved. Prof. M. D. Billings made a business trip to Bryson City Wed nesday. Misses Cornelia McKimmons and Rosalie Morrow, E. H. Meacham and Fred S.
