Health Nurse To Visit Five Schools Here i Mrs. Frank Shope, who Mon day assumed her duties as Ma eon County public health nurse, has announced that she will visit live schools during the next week. 1 i At each school all first grad ers [will be inspected, and Mrs. ,fc>hope will give typhoid immu nizations. Thbse immunizations will be available to adults, as well as school children, she pointed 'out. The nurse will visit Oak Dale and Euniiiv'tcwn schools to morrow (Friday). Next Wed nesday she will be at Iotla And on Thursday, April 22, she will visit the Otter Creek and Kyle schools. Mrs. Shope will be in the pub lic health office in the Ashear building on Mondays and Sat urday mornings, and she an nounced that Dr. Mary B. H. Michal, district health officer, will be at the health office here each Monday afternoon from 1 to 3:30 o'clock. In commenting on the typhoid immunizations, Mrs. Shope re marked that "it is' recognized that either a series of three doses of typhoid vaccine should be given every three years, or one dose each year, to keep the individual immunized, and that the yearly dose is advised. Any parents who do not wish their children immunized are asked to send a note to the children's teacher at the school Boys' And Girls' Week T o Be Sponsored By Rotary Club The Franklin Rotary club has voted to sponsor observance of Boys' and Girls' week here the last week in April. Features of the program will be special services in the churches Sunday, April 25, and an athletic field day Friday, April 30. For the Sunday observance, every church in the county is asked to hold appropriate youth services. The athletic events are to bf h^ld at the Franklin school and all schools in the county are invited to participate. A similar observance ol Boys' and Girls' ,we-!:, v.riich is spon sored by Rotary International, last year was considered high ly successful. Rutherford Hayes and mem bers of his Rotary comnjittee on youth service are in charge, and will seek the cooperation of churches, business men, and school authorities. Mrs. L. Tippett, Native Of Macon, Dies In Oklahoma W. T. Tippett, of Franklin, received a message Saturday that his step-mother. Mrs. Lucinda Peek Tippett, of Verden, Okla., had died. Funeral services were held there Monday. Mrs. Tippett was a native of Macon County, having gone to the West with her husband, the late Rev. J. F. Tippett, and her FIRE DESTROYS ; HOME OF NEGRO; Ev;n Unrecorded Deed Reported Lost; 30 Acres Burned The elderly widow of Erwin Bryson (Negro) lost her home and everything in it ?in a fire Monday afternoon. The blaze, which spread to I nearby woods, burned over about 30 acres on the south side of Trimont. It was said that even the deed to the property was un recorded and was lost in the fire, and that the persons who gave the deed are now dead. The woman's husband died a few months ago. The fire started about noofti and the forest blaze was brought under control' about 4:30 by County Fire Warden Fred Bry son and a group of about 10 fighters. family more than 40 years ago. She is remembered by old friends in Macon County as a woman of tremendous energy, wide interests, and a deep Chris tian faith. Surviving Mrs. Tippett are five daughters: Mrs. Ellis Hurst, of Outlook, Mont , Mrs. Oran Hall, of Anadarko, Okla., Mrs. Cora Foster, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Misses Margaret and Minnie Tippett of Verden; three sons, Charlie and Frank of Ok lahoma City, and George of Verden; and one step-son, Mr. Tippett, of Franklin.
