PERRY Miss Katherlne Long, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Erwln Wes ley Long, became the bride of Victor Horn Perry, son of Mrs. James E. Perry, Sr., and of the late Mr. Perry, in a ceremony performed Saturday night at 8 o'clock at the Franklin Method dlst church. The Rev. J. H. Brendall officiated, using the double ring ceremony. Baskets of white gladioli and asters and candelabra holding lighted tapers were used on the altar against a background of native greenery. The windows of % the church also held lighted tapers. Mrs. Henry Cabe, organist, and Richard Sloan, soloist, presented a program of wedding music. Mrs. Cabe played "Ave Maria", by Schubert and "In dian Love Call", by Friml, be fore the ceremony. Mr. Sloan sang "At Dawning", by Cad man, and "O Promise Me", by DeKoven. The traditional wed ding marches were used. For the benediction, Mr. Sloan sang "The Lord's Prayer", by Malotte. The bride, who w^s given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of duchess satin with a fitted bodice trimmed in Chan tilly lace. The long full skirt of satin and lace ended in a short circular train and her finger tip veil of French illusion was attached to a tiara of orange blossoms. She wore a strand of . pearls, a gilt of the bridegroom. ! Her bouquet was of white roses | and gardenias with white satin ! streamers. Miss Carolyn Long, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Her gown was of lavender-rose taffeta, made with a bertha, hoop skiH, and bustle back. She carried a nosegay of asters and chrysanthemums in pastel shades. Miss Jessie Sutton, of Decatur, Ga., cousin of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Jack Burney, of East Point, Ga., cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids. Their dresses were of August green taffeta made similar to that of the maid of honor, and they, too, carried nosegays of asters and chrysanthemums. Winton Perry, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Clell Bryant, J. Ward Long, J. E. Perry, jr., Boyd Sutton, Jr., of Atlanta, and Leland Close and Max Abbot, of Bryson City. Mrs. Long, mother of the bride, wore a blue crepe gown with silver accessories. She wore a lavender orchid. Mrs. Perry, mother of the JOIN Bryant Mutual Burial Association ? A reception was held, fol lowing the ceremony, at the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. C. N. Dowdle welcomed i the guests at the door. In the receiving line were the bride's mother, the groom's mother, and the bridal party. Following the reception, the bridal couple left for a wed ding trip in ih? north. For travfilng, the bride wore a gaMUdlne suit of Elizabeth blue. Mrs Perry U a graduate of the Franklin High school, and of the Woman's college of the University of North Carolina.
