C., are spend ing several weeks with Mrs. Pat tillo's mother, Mrs. Ralph Moore. Mrs. Alice Mendenhall, of Olendale, Calif., spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Mendenhall. Mrs. Ellis Soper had as her guests lost week the Rev. and Mrs. Jackson Huneycutt and Mrs. Ethel King, of Ashevllle. Mrs. Thomas Mo.s is Improv ing, following an operation at Angel hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cope, who nave been living In SanHtn since their return from Ger many several months ago, have moved to Sevlerviile, Tenn. Mrs. Arthur Brooks, of Fair mont, W. Va., is the guest of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Brooks. Mrs. Meta Lewis has gone to Warsaw, Ind , to spend several months visiting her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lewis. Miss Louise Alexander, of Charlotte, is the guest ot her sister, Mrs. Fred Slagle. Mrs. Ed McNish and son, Tommy, went to Nashvllli, Tenn., last week to attend the golden wedding celebration of her parents. Miss Maxine Renshaw, student at Brevard college, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Renshaw. She was accompanied home by her roommate, Miss Maria Anela Fout, of Cuba. Mrs. Bertha Thomas Chandler Is receiving treatment at Angel hospital. Francis Leopard has gone to San Diego, Calif., to enter naval training at the naval base there. Roy Biddle, Jr., sophomore of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is spending the Thanksgiving holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Biddle. Miss McConnell plans to be here until after Christmas. Mrs. Mary Jo Sloan, executive secretary of the Macon County chapter of the Red Cress, and Mrs. A. R. Kinney, volunteer home service worker, attended last Thursday's meeting in Asheville on the proposed Red Cross blood program for West ern North Carolina. Clyde Pennington, who re cently underwent an operation at the Baptist hospital at Win ston-Salem, returned home Sat urday. Mrs. W. W. Sloan and her son, W. W. (Bill) Sloan, are spending Thanksgiving in Ra leigh with Mrs. Sloan's daugh ter, Mrs. Hall Swain, and son, Fred S. Sloan, and their fami lies. Mrs. Sloan plans to re main In Raleigh for two or three weeks.
