THOMPSON'S FAMILY TO BE HERE FOR HOUDAYS Completing Mrs. H. P. P. Thompson's family for the holi days will be Mr. and Mrs. C. P, McNeely of Mooresvllle, who will arrive Christmas eve, the Rev. and Mrs. W. T. Medlin, Jr , and young son, of C'yde, who will arrive Christmas day, and Mrs. D. B. McNamee of Atlanta, who will come Monday. Mrs. Mc Nqely is the former Miss Peggy Thompson, Mrs. Medlin, the former Miss June Thompson, and Mrs. McNamee, the former Miss Sarah Thompson. Porterfields Entertain Episcopal Congregation Col. and Mrs. H. D. Poterfield were hosts at the December congregational supper meeting of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, held Thursday night. The supper menu and the tables and room decorations featured the red and green Christmas colors. Various church matters were discussed in the meeting a'ter supper, and tentative plans made for furnishing the rec tory. Colonel Porterfield and W. C. Nail were appointed to wcrk with members of the mission committee in investigating the cost, shou'd this plan prove ad visable. Tudor N. Hall is chair man of the investigating com mittee. Edwafds and Mrs. Edna Sheppard, ho?t ess of the Hotel Edwards, Were notified by telegram Saturday of the sudden death of Capt. F. S. LeCain In Miami, Fla., on Friday. Funeral services were held Monday in Miami. Always guests at Hotel Ed I wards, Captain and Mrs. LeCatn have numbered among High lands' most popular summer visitors for the past several years, Mrs. LeCain having spent three to four months here each season. School At Highland* To Closs Tomorrow For Week's Holiday O. F. Summer, principal, has announced that Highlands school will close December 33 for the Christmas holidays and reopen on the morning of January 3 This one-week vacation period is in keeping with the schedule of schools over the county, Mr. Summer said. Highlands Faculty 100 Per Cent NCEA Members Highlands school faculty has a 100 per cent membership in the North Carolina Education association again this year, ac cording to a recent announce ment. Christma* Candlelight Service Will Be Held A candlelight service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation at 4 o'clock next Sunday afternoon (Christmas Day), it has been announced by the Rev.
