Highlands Highlights MRS. SARAH PAXTON Correspondent REDDEN HOME ENTERED: OFFICERS INVESTIGATING The C. F. Redden home on Shortoff was entered illegally last week, probably the night of April 20, officers believe. An investigation is being con ducted by Police Chief P. R. Paxton, S. B. I. Agent P. R Kitchen, of Waynesville, and Sheriff J. Harry Thomas. BUBNETTE BUYS STORE FROM ROLIVER BATY J. M. Burnette, formerly of Talley and Burnette Groceries, has bought Rink's Self Service Grocery from Roliver Baty on North Fourth Street. Mr. Burn ette Is now operating the busi ness and is in the process of re modeling. He has changed the name to Burnette 's Self Service Grocery. HEMPHILLS TO ATTEND PINEHURST MED MEETING Dr. and Mrs. C. H. Hemphill will leave Sunday for Plnehurst where they will attend the an nual meeting of the N. C. Med ical Society. Dr. Hemphill Is a delegate from the Macon-Clay society. They plan to return to Highlands on Wednesday. T MRS. fflVrORD ENTERTAINS AJT LUNCHEON AND BRIDGE Mrs. T. S. Blnford entertain' ed last Thursday afternoon with luncheon at Hotel Edwards, fol lowed by an afternoon of bridge. Two tables were In play, with Mrs. Prank B. Cook as high score winner and Miss Kate Jungermann as second high. Personal Mentiuu Col. and Mrs. H. D. Porter field have returned to their home on West Main Street after spending several months in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. George Worley, of Miami, Fla., have arrived at their home on Satulah for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Westervelt Ter hune, of New Orleans, La., have begun their summer vacation at their home on the Dlllard Road. Mrs. A. D. Little, of Thomas - ville, Ga., has arrived here for the summer, and is now occupy ing her home on North Fourth Street. Mr. and Mrs. George S. Clark, of Savannah, Ga., are spending a few days at their summer home on Sequoyah Ridge, get ting it ready for the season. Mr. and Mrs. J. Byron Olover, of Savannah, Qa., are here for a few days getting their home on Sequoyah Ridge ready for fummer occupancy. Mrs. W. H. Cobb left Sunday to spend a week In Charleston, S. C., where she Is to attend the wedding of her niece, Miss Ann Perry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Perry. Week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Overton Chambers II,, were Pvt. and Mrs. James Coleman, of Camp Gordon, Ga., and Ex eter, N. H. Capt. and Mrs. E. A. Nlblock, of Blloxl, Miss., and Highlands, have arrived -here for the sum mer. Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Willis and son, Ernest, of Clemson, S. C., spent the week-end here at their home on Sequoyah Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Frank M. Tal bot and family and friends spent Easter week-end at their home on Bear Pen Mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Pax ton left Sunday for a week's trip to Ocala and Palm Beach, Fla. Mrs. Burwell Thornton and Mrs. W. P. Sloan left Saturday for Wilmington for a few days, where they will visit ?their will visit their brother, Harry Hill, who Is a patient at Bullock Hospital there. Mr. and Mrs. George S.
