In Morganton After Two- Year Illness ? Girlie Grover Holland, farmer of Franklin, Route 5. died Septem ber 4 in Morganton. Sixty-nine years old, he had been ill for two years. Funeral services were conducted on the 6th at 2 p. m. at the Sugarfork Baptist Church by the Rey. William Jollay and the Rev. Frank Holland. Burial was in the church cemetery. Born December 23, 1886, Mr. Holland was the son of Marion ' and Mrs. Laura Woods Holland. He was married in 1907 to Miss Temperance Moore, of this county, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by live sons, Troy, Vern on, Elbert, and Howard, all of Franklin, Route 5, and Woodrow , Holland, of Pontiac, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Bill Deal, of Route 5, and Mrs. Fred Dills, of Route 1; a sister, Mrs. Ella Ford, of Canton: 34 grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Grandsons serving as pallbearers were Berlon and Bobby Deal, Willis Dills, and Shirley. Richard, and Keith Holland. Arrangements were under the direction of Bryant Funeral Home. Wests Gather For Reunion Mr. and Mrs. A. J. West had a number of their relatives at their home Sunday, September 2, for a family reunion. Those from out of town were Mrs. Delia Harris and son, Rob ert, of Carrolton, Tex., Harrison West, and family, of Pelzer, S. C., and Robert Dickerson, of Ander son, S. C. Approximately 25 of the West family were present. Reports from Tar Heel glowers indicate that a new record wheat yield per acre of 24 bushels was harvested from 354,000 acx-es for a total production of S.498,000 bushels.
