Driver Escapes When Trailer-Truck Is Demolished The driver of (his heavily loaded tractor-trailer escaped serious injury early last Thursday morning after the brakes on the rig failed in Cullasaja Gorge on US 64 and the truck was demolished in a plunge down a steep embank ment. Roy B. Raines, 32, of Atlanta, Ga., was treated at Angel Hospital for bruises and minor cuts. He was freed from the crushed cab by Jim McCall and Harold Jenkins. Mr. McCall, who lives nearby, was awakened by the crash when the truck overturned down the embankment and came to rest at the edge of a small lake about 5:30.
