Lions Hear About
Red Brainwashing
Members of the Frankiin Lion ,
Club learned something about tin
techniques used by the Commun
ists in brainwashing American sol
diers in Korea at their regular
meeting Monday night.
Guest speaker of the evening
was Dr. Cecil' W. Mann, psychol
ogy professor at Tulane Univer
sity and Franklin summer resi
dent, and a man well read in thi*
field.
Dr. Mann's topic was "War and
Words". He placed special emphas
is on the power of words in
changing the thoughts and sug
gestions of a person's mind.
The Reds used this power on a
few G. I.'s in Korea, causing them
to renounce their country and ac
cept the Communist doctrine.
