CANSLER IN HOSPITAL Macon Native Was 55; Rites Held Sunday Afternoon Mrs. Mary Leona Hastings De hart Cansler, 55, of Franklin, died Friday at 6:45 p. m. in a local hospital folowing an illness of several months. She was a native and life-long resident of Macon County, born March 15, 1902, to Wymer and Mrs. Mattie Anne Hastings. She was married in 1917 to Ernest B. Dehart, who died in 1937. In 1946, she married Zeb Cansler, who survives. Mrs. Cansler was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church and a past president of the Women's Missionary Union. She also had taught Sunday School there. She was a member of the Nequassi Chapter. No. 43, of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a past mem ber of the Franklin Home Demon stration Club. Funeral services were held Sun day at 3 p. m. at her church with the pastor, the Rev. M. W. Chap man, officiating. He was assisted , by the Rev. A. Rufus Morgan and j the Rev. Thad Dowdle. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pall bearers, all Masons, were H. H. Plemmons, Curtis Pearson, Bill Bryant. Prelo Dryman, Oscar Led ford, and J. Ward Long. Surviving in addition to her husband are four children by her first marriage. Lt. Cmdr. Turner Dehart. of the U.S. Navy, of Wash ington, D. C? Doyle Dehart, of Falls Church, Va? and Kermit Dehart. also of Washington, and Miss Helen Dehart, of Franklin: four grandchildren: two step-sons. Bill and Lewis Cansler. of Frank lin: three step-grandchildren; a brother. Freeman Hastings, of Franklin, Route 2: and four sis ters.
