Items Of Interest From Cowee Community , Miss Cecile Gibson Staff Correspondent Don't forget tonight (Thursday) is the regular meeting of the community development organiza tion. The meeting will be held at the school at 7 :30, and a good pro gram Is planned. ? ? ? The home demonstration club held Its regular meeting at the school April 25. Mrs. C. C. Welch gave the devotional. The subject of the demonstration given by Mrs. Florence Sherrill was, "Dress For the Occasion." She gave gen eral rules which are helpful in de ciding what to wear for different occasions. Plans were made (or the dis trict meeting which is being held at Soco Methodist Center today (May 1). and for the dress re view which will be held May 7 at the East Franklin School. The club voted to give a citizen ship award to the most outstand ing student of the 8th grade at Co wee School. Sirs. Troy Hurst received the attendance prize. ? ? ? The Young Adult Sunday School Class of the Snow Hill Methodist Church met In the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Byrd Friday night for its monthly meeting and a covered dish supper. Pol lowing the supper, Mrs. Grace Tatham gave the devotional and Edward Sheffield, president, con ducted the business session. ? ? ? Attention! Miss Annie Lee McGaha repre sented Cowee at the regional training union meeting at Frank lin Baptist Church Saturday, where she was a winner. Miss Lynn Elzey, from Brevard College, spent the week end at her home here. Mil a Josephine Dalton visited friends in Gastonia during the week end. Mrs. Burdell Ray is improving following a major operation at Angel Hospital. ? Mr. and Mrs. Troy Hurst and granddaughter.
