The Rev. Bill Sorrells. of Sylva, taught the book, "A Study of the Gospel of Mark". The course was completed Satur day, night. Meeting Planned Members of the Higdonville Community Development Organi zation are urged to attend the February meeting tonight (Thurs day) at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Corbin. The meeting is set for 7:30. P.-T.A. To Meet Tuesday night, February 10, the Cullasaja P.T-A. will meet at the school at 7:30. A group discussion on "Mental Health" will be featured. Sea Study Mrs. Pauline Cable's sixth grade class is enjoying a study of animal and plant life of the sea. They are making a collection of sea shells. Some of the children have brought shells that came from Pacific Islands. Mr. and Mrs. Holland, who recently moved here from Pennsylvania, have built a new house near Cullasaja School. They have two children, Terry and Kathy. The honorees received many gifts. Women of the Culla saja community organization served coffee, cold drinks, cookies, and cup cakes. Motorists, be sure you keep a sharp eye out for the pedestrian who Isn't watching you. The North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles says a pedestrian may be wrong, but he doesn't deserve the death sentence. Postal Exams Are Announced For 2 Offices Announcement of examinations for substitute postal clerk and substitute letter carrier at Frank lin and Highlands has been made by the United States Civil Service Commission. These positions pay $2 per hour. Applications will be accepted until further notice, according to the announcement. The registers established as a result of this examination will cancel and supersede similar | registers established under all pre vious announcements for Frank lin. Committee, reminds farmers that the market ing year under the 1958 wool pro gram will end March 31. The wool program is conducted under the National Wool Act of 1954. Pay ments under the 1958 program will be made this summer when the payment rates are determined on the basis of national average prices received by producers for shorn wool during the 1958 mar keting year.
