Local Company Helping Sponsor School Program The Conley Motor Company In Franklin Is cooperating with the Science Education Service and the schools of Macon County In the improvement of the schools' audio visual programs, it was announced this week. Conley Motor Company Is co sponsoring with Science Education Service 50 per cent of the cost of a group of science and health educational 35mm slide films, along with necessary equipment for showing these films, such as projection screens, projection tables, etc. ? Under the plan, each school which participates in the program has approximately $60, or fifty per cent of the total cost of the materials and equipment, spon sored by the two cooperating agencies ? Educators throughout the coun try have welcomed the series of science films, which deal with "How Television Works", "How Atomic Energy Helps Mankind." "Controlling Fire", and "Automo bile Safety." The health films present a complete curriculum in students' care of their bodies and important' health rules. Asheville Woman Named To Hall's Washington Staff WAYNESVILLE ? Congressman David M. Hall has announ ced the appointment of Mrs. George C. Moreland, of Asheville and Palls Church, Va? to his office staff in Washington. Mrs. Moreland was employed for several years in the Depart ment of State, Washington, and in this connection served as an officer in the International Secre tariat during the Foreign Min isters Conference in New York, the Japanese Peace Treaty Con ference in San Francisco, and other international conferences. For the past three years she has been employed in a congressional office on Capitol Hill. Baileys were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pressley, Mrs. Joyce Miller and daughter, of Canton, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bailey and children, of Hazelwood.
