The banquet was given in recog nition of their completion of 25 pear's service with the company. ? subsidiary of Aluminum Com pany of America, and was attend ed b'v 40 fellow employees and the n-ives of the honorees. A 25-year Alcoa service pin was presented to Mr. Christy by John VI. Archer, president of Nantahala Power and Light Company, and to Mr. Grant by M. R. Whitaker, the company's superintendent of trans nission and distribution. Both nen had previously received a ;ash honorarium in recognition of their long terms of faithful serv ce. Twelve employees of Nantahala Power and Light Company have become members of the Alcoa 25 year Club, which on June 1, 1959, had a total membership of 8,758. At a meeting of the local 25-year club members following the ban quet, a Nantahala Power and Light Company 25-year Club was organized and the following offi cers were elected: John B. Ray, Franklin, president; Claude H Bolton, Franklin, vice-president; and J. A. Sutton, Bryson City, secretary-treasurer. Other members of the local club are J. M. Archer, Jr., Franklin; E. R. Bulloch, Frank lin; G. L. Butler, Andrews; C. E. McFalls, Franklin; W. M. Messer, Sylva; C. W. Stewart, Tuckasee gee; and M. R. Whitaker, Frank lin. Jefferies, of Scott Air Force Base. 111., are spending a few weeks at | the Cullasaja Lodge. After his Jeave, Capt. Jefferies will go to J Germany for duty. Mrs. Jefferies' plans to join him later. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Schindler, .of Miami, Fla., have arrived to spend the season at their sum mer home on Buck Creek. Mr. and Mrs. Schindler are good friends of the Rev. and Mrs. Fred N. Sor rells and have attended the As semblies of God camp meetings 6ince these meetings were first begun in 1945. They will attend this year's services, and Mr. Schindler will assist with the song services. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Holland, of Walland, Tenn., were here Sat urday visiting Mr. Holland's "sis ters, Mrs. Bert Mashbum, and Mr. Mashburn, and Miss Mary Holland. Miss Holland returned home with them for a two weeks' visit. Mrs. Robert L. Estes left Tues day to join her husband in Pon tiac, Mich., where he is working. Mrs. John Pendergrass, of Clarkesville, Ga., is spending a few days here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Arnold. John Cunningham, who has been ill for the past few weeks, was admitted to C. J. Harris Com munity Hospital, Sylva, last week for treatment. Mr. and Mrs. David Lee Mc Dowell and family, of Pontiac, Mich., have returned home after visiting Mr. McDowell's mother, Mrs. Frank McDowell, who has been a patient at Angel Clinic.
