Cullasaja Installs Officers Tuesday night of last week, the ! Cullasaja P.-TA. held its regular meeting at the school, with about j 100 present. The Rev. R. E. Steph enson was in charge of the de- ' votional. The group enjoyed a preview , of the "May Day" program. An- j other interesting feature was a j recital by piano students of the . Rev. R E. Stephenson. , A committee was appointed to ] check over the school building and [ , make recommendations for neces- i sary repairs to be done during the summer. Another team, composed of Dorothy Higdon and Carolyn Moses, won a blue ribbon, a pur ple ribbon, and $6 In cash for their demonstration. Visit Biltmore Estate Twenty-nine eighth grade stu dents from Cullasaja School, ac companied by their principal and teacher. Weaver Shope and Mrs. Hazel M. Stamey. visited Biltmore Estates Monday. They made the trip in the school's athletic bus, driven by Clyde Crisp. The group had made a study of the architectural plan of the Biltmore Estates and had acquired some background knowledge of the family that - built it before their trip. On their return journey, they discussed what they had seen and also the economic situation in the United States at the time the home was built. A picnic lunch was enjoyed by the group in the bus at Biltmore Plaza. They also made stops at Sears in Asheville and at West <ate Shopping Center. Money to ' ti.'.ance the trip was raised by the I students by picking up walnuts to sell and collecting and selling scrap iron and soft drink bottles. Gifts . . .
