Death Claims Brown, Macon Native, Monday Otto Grover Brown, a na tive of Macon County and a sawmill worker, died Monday at 2:15 p. m., at his home on Franklin, Route 2. Seventy-five, he had been ill i for four weeks. Funeral services were held yesterday, (Wednesday) after non at 2:30 at the Ooweeta Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Officiating were the Rev. R. R. Standley and the Rev. Lee Crawford. Burial was in the church cemetery. Born July 30, 1885, Mr. Brown was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Brown. He was married to Miss Hattie Cloer, of this county, on Jan. 20, 1903. Surviving are the wife; two E. W. Crawford and family in Winston-Salem. Week end guest of Miss Peggy Dowdle was Miss San dra Waldrop, of Aiken, S. C. Visiting Mrs. Frank Stiles and family last week were Mr. and Mns. - Joe Waldroop and son, Larry, of Anderson, S. C.; Mr. and Mrs. Furman Wal droop and family, of Aiken, S. C.: and Mrs. Mamie Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Max Vinson and children and Mr. and Mrs. Ed win Vinson, of Candler. Mr. and Mrs. Lex Vanhook and family spent Sunday visits ing Mr. and Mrs. George Franks in Waynesville. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mc Clure and Kir Is spent a recent week end in Candler visiting Mr. and Mrs. Hershel Rhodes and family. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Cunningham Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Cunning ham and family, of Belmont. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Merrill, of Orlando, Fla., spent several days at their summer home here last week. daughters. Mrs. W. C. Tippett Succumbs At Home A Macon County native, Walter Calvin Tippett, of Franklip, Route 4, died Nov ember 23 at 8:40 p. m.,-at his homo. A miner and farmer, he was 68 years old and had been in declining health for three years. Funeral services for Mr. Tip pett were held the afternoon of the 25th at the Cowee Baptist Church of which he was a | member. officiating were the Rev. Clyde Collins, the Rev. Clyde Rhinehart, the Rev. Clyde Montieth, and the Rev. Norman E. Holden. Burial was in the church cemetery. Born Feb. 13, 1892, he was the son of Thomas and Mrs. Burnette A be ma thy Tippett. He was married June 17, 1928 to Miss Dessie Pickens, of this county, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, George W. Tippett, of Kala mazoo, Mich., Roy Tippett, of Franklin, Route 4, Aubrey Tip pett, of Sylva, and Truman Tippett, of the home; two daughters, Mtb. - J. B. Duvall, of Franklin, Route 4, and Mrs. Ralph Sanders, also of Route r 4; two brothers, J. A Tippet*, !l Waynesville, and Buel Tip pett, of Wlnston-faa'.em; a sis ter, Mrs. Minnie Holland, of Ashevllle: and five granefchi; dTen. Pallbearers were Marvin Pickens, Wade Pickens, Roger Hurst, Gene Owenby, Lather Raby, and Fred McGaha. Potts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
