Aberdeen, Since December 1st, 1930, when the Parent-Teachers Association voted to serve hot lunches during the noon hour at the Grammar School, owing to the great need as shown in the school by the attendance of under nourished and underweight children, 3,658 free lunches have been served and almost as many paid lunches in the Aberdeen School, and 376 free lunches served in the Pinebluff School, with about the same num ber of paid lunches. Donations made by the stores of Aberdeen, the differ ent clubs, individuals and the Red Cross made possible this good work, so badly needed for the underprivi leged children of this school district. The Parent-Teachers Association wishes to thank most heartily all those who helped make this work a success by their untiring efforts in giving soup mixture, and giving of their time so generously. Several women did not ask for a substitute, nor did they miss a single week in giving their time and aid in other ways. The women of this district are urged, when putting up their soup mixture this summer, to remember the undernourished school children, and put up a few quarts for this purpose next winter, when it is earn estly hoped this work can be contin ued.
