Hospital Nurses To Give Musicale Tuesday Night Yeomans String Quartet, McKel- way-Gibson Vocal Quartet on Program The Week in Aberdeen The nurses of the Moore County Hospital invite the public to a musl- rale, to be given at 8:30 Tuesday eve ning, January 28, in the parlor of the Nurses' Home. A group cf music-loveng, well known in the section, have consented to furnish the program. Miss Mar garet Bishop, Miss Mary Yeomans, and Alfred Yeomans, all of Soathern Pines, and Elisha Tuttle, of the Car olina Hotel orchestra, will play in the string quartet. The Rev. A. V. Oibson of Sariford, and the Rev. A. J. McKelway, of Pinehurst. with Mrs. Gib.<ion and Mrs. McKelway, will offer vocal selections. After the tour of serious music there will be dancing The affair is the nurses part in the series of entertainments sponsor ed by the Auxiliary for t'.'e benefit of the Hospital.. Creel home. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Pleasants, Jr.. both who have been confined to their home with Illness for the past week, are much improved and able to be out. J. T. Land is confined to his home with influenza. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Atwater and son, H. L. Jr., of Durham were guests over the week-end of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Gunter. Miss Mary Page left on Wednesday for Norfolk. Va.. where she plans to spend the next three or four weeks visiting Mrs. C. E. Herbert. Chief of Police Rufus H. Beck has been confined to his home for the past ten days with influenza. The Misses Kathleen Rhyne and Mary Margaret Burney, students at W. C., U. N. C., arrived home on Wednesday for a short vacation be tween semesters. W. H. Farmer of Patterson, N. J., visited his nieces, Mrs. Mack Wal lace and Mrs. H. J. Edge last week. Miss Lanie Ruth Gunter and Miss Larry Cox. students at Greensboro College, accompanied by Tom Mc- Eiowell of Asheboro spent Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Gunter. Mrs. J, T. Farmer has returned to her home in Wagram after spending sev eral weeks visiting her daughters, Mrs. Mack Wallace and Mrs. H. J. Edge. Major and Mrs. Leon M. The members of the Ladeis Bible class of the Page Memorial Mefnodlst Church gathered at the home of Mrs. Mack Wallace for their regular mon thly meeting on Monday night. After a short business session a social hour was enjoyed. An interesting contest was held and the prize was awarded to Mrs. J. K. Melvin, Jr. Refresh ments were served to the 16 mem bers present. Mrs. R. S. Gwyn returned home Tuesday night after spending several weeks visiting in Sumter, S. C. Miss Anna Cl^rk Capps has been confined to her home for the past week suffering with influenza. Mrs. M. M. Creel is confined to her home on account of illness. Dr. H. E. Bowman returned Tues day from Moore County Hospital where he was a patient for several days. Ralph Caldwell, Mrs. George Msr^ tin and Miss Louise Martin spent Wednesday and Thursday in Atlanta attending the Buick convention. J. C. Robbins has been confined to his home for the past few days with a mild case of influenza. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hurley of Fay etteville spent Saturday night in town with Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Lockey enroute to Hot Springs, Ark., where Mr. Hurley will take treat ment for arthritis. Mr. and Mrs. Norfleet Pleasants spent the week-end In Asheboro. Miss Lida Duke Blue has been ill for the past week with influenza. Mrs. S. A. Worsley is spending a few days with relatives in Spring Hope. Miss Frances Pleasants spent Mon day and Tuesday in Greensboro. Mrs. S. A. Maxwell was hostess to the Walter Hines Page Book Club, at her home last Thursday afternoon. An interesting program was given. Mrs. Reid Page sang two selections, accompanied by Miss Harward. Lil lian Barber and Lettie Maxwell sang “Chatterbox.” Following this, Mrs. Thomas McGraw gave a delightful reading. The next meeting will be with Mrs. 'Reid Page. Mrs. H. W. Doub was hostess at two tables of bridge at her home on Monday afternoon for the benefit of the Moore County Hospital. Those playing were Mrs. Worsley, Mrs. Lockey, Mrs. Norfleet Pleasants. Mrs. Leon Seymour, Mrs. Dan Far rell, Mrs. E. L. Pleasants, Mrs. Glenn Caviness and Miss Alice Wilder. There were two other benefit par ties given during the past weelf when Mrs. Edwin McKelthen and Mrs. J. B, Edwards each entertained at two ta bles.
