of a daughter, Carolyn Louise, at

Injured in Fall
C. N. White, machinist in the em
ploy of Stutts-Taylor Lumber CU>m-
pany, suffered a broken shoulder the
first of the week when he fell from
the top of the boiler at the plan
ing mill to the cement floor.
Ho was carried to the Moore Coun
ty Hospital, but returned home after
having the broken bone set and plac
ed in a cast.

The Vass Woman's Club and a few

evening of last week.

der the leadership of Mrs. W. E.

had been on maneuvers for the past
while, spent the week-end at the
home of his parents here. Mrs. McGill,
who had been in Claremont for sev
eral weeks on account of the illness
of her mother, joined him here Sun
day.

Thompson has been ill for several
weeks, but greatly enjoys having

held Friday evening in the High
School auditorium sponsored by the
P. T. A. Miss Ida Cameron Willcox,
daughter of John Willcox, won first
place for H. S. girls and Mary Epps
Wallace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
R. G. Wallace won second place. Quite
a nice sum was received for the P. T.
A. budget. A part of this will be used
for feeding undernourished children in
the lunch room.
